Pear Shaped Celebrities
Last week, we took a poll about Body Shapes and 31% said they were Pear Shaped. Well, you’re in good company! I’m Pear Shaped too!
And we’re not the only ones! Here are a few famous (and beautiful) celebrities that are Pear Shaped…

A common misconception is that Pear Shaped people are overweight. This is simply untrue! Many people who are skinny are Pear Shaped, like Keira Knightly for example. Very thin girl, but every extra ounce goes right to the upper thigh.
Pear Shaped is similar to Hourglass Shaped, but people with an Hourglass figure have wider hips than upper thigh. Once your thigh measurement is more than hip measurement, you have gone over to the Pear Shaped side of the figure map.
Wearing a plus size floral dress is suitable for plus size women who have a pear-shaped figure. Printed clothes help in concealing the wide hips by drawing the eyes’ attention to the beautiful clothing design, improving the individual’s overall look. If you have a pear-shaped figure, you can also wear long dresses with a slit to make your legs look longer and your overall outfit sexier.
Another misconception is that you have to have very narrow shoulders and small breasts to be Pear Shaped. This is also untrue. The most important thing to classify one as Pear Shaped, is to have wider thighs than hips.
You can create an illusion of a broad shoulder and fuller breasts by wearing off-shoulder tops or blouses with shoulder paddings, or any decorative shoulder embellishments. Spaghetti straps are also perfect, emphasizing your shoulders and exposing your cleavage to offset the false narrow shoulder look.
Having a pear-shaped body doesn’t mean you have to hide your thighs underneath oversized long skirts or baggy jeans. Sometimes, hiding wide thighs will make them appear wider. Don’t hesitate to wear skinny jeans with a crop top that has a sexy cut if you want it.
You can find some dresses to get pear shaped bodies on online stores like Romwe.
Having wider thighs doesn’t mean that you’re overweight when your upper body part doesn’t reveal it. It means that you have a pear figure. Having a pear-shaped body allows you to experiment with different clothing styles and rock the fashion world like celebrities with this type of figure.
Good LORD, it’s so great to read this. I think “pear shaped women” are the best. I don’t really even know what I’m talking about. My wife says she needs to work out more because, yeah, she’s pear-shaped. But the thing is, I’m all over her pear-shape-i-ness. She’s by no means overweight or out of shape or unhealthy, except she smokes, but so do I… Anyway, for the other pear-shaped ladies out there, I’m a totally normal guy. I honestly believe that most normal guys who love and appreciate the beauty of the female frame stand in stupefied awe of a magnificent, so-called “pear-shaped” woman. I wish you all would come up with a better name for it. This “pear-shaped” name has vaguely negative connotations. However, I’d also like to add that the pear-shape can also easily be the result of unhealthy living, no matter what one’s biological make-up may be… this I have learned from my female family members. But the bottom line is this: if you are a woman, and your healthy weight leaves you with that blessed shape, for godsake, don’t freak out about it. Um…I think I should stop here. My wife left the room as soon as I started typing. Viva la pear-shape. I believe my comrades, whom I know are many, will join in celebrating the lovely measurement ratios, or whatever you call it. Thank you beautiful ladies.
I love healthy, pear shaped women. I’m a dude who gets seriously turned on by women who are naturally pear shaped. I belong to a running club, and many of the women are pear shaped. Several run marathons. So, a pear shape looks hot and healthy, on a lot of women.
Pear shaped celebs who do it for me, are: Kate Winslet, Sophie Marceau, the ones listed in the article, etc.
So true that even the skinny can be pear shaped! I once had someone tell me that I must be overweight if I’m pear-shaped… even though I was just barely at the low end of my healthy weight range (5’2″ and 108lbs). My figure most closely resembles Jennifer Love Hewitt’s as far as proportions go. I’m not just a little bit pear shaped, it’s a lot– a 4 inch difference between my bust and thighs=(
I don’t think pears actually have smaller breasts. Mine are relatively large in comparison to my tiny rib cage (30C). My weight goes to my breasts and thighs, but my bone structure keeps me pear shaped. Even when I was at my skinniest with hardly any fat, my thighs were still bigger than any other part of me. I’m glad to see these gorgeous celebrities with the same issue at various ranges.
I’m a pear shaped female too. I’m 5ft2 and 125lb with measurements 34 bust, 26 waist and 38 around the butt. I am a true pear shape in the sense I have a small bust, narrow shoulders and small waist with wider hips, big butt and thick thighs. I’m also quite muscular with a lean body. I hate the ignorance that pear shapes must be overweight when I’ve got defined abs and an ideal percentage of body fat. But the facts are pear shapes are the healthy ones because storing fat around the hips, thighs and buttocks is much more healthy than storing it around the waist. Also pears can have larger busts but what makes them pear shape is the narrow shoulders and small ribcage in relation to the lower body. Someone like Kim Kardashian or Jennifer Love Hewitt appears to be an hourglass shape, but really they are pear shaped with large breasts. I think they have the ideal body type.
I am so glad that i read this site. It seems as if everyone other site that i have read about pear shaped bodies was in a negative way. Im a 34B with a 25 inch waist and yep 36 inch hips, a definite pear shape! But im only 4′ 11″ and weigh about 90 lbs. I always thought that i looked bigger because of the size of my hips and always found it, of myself, to be unattractive. Am i just over reacting? Thanks for reading and again for lifting my spirits about pear shaped bodies :)
I’m 5’8 and 115 pounds, I hate my pear shape! They say a women can’t change her shape but when I’m 100-105 pounds I am more straight shape so I can’t wait to get back into eating right and walking more. When I was 100 pounds I had thin legs but still had the butt I like, I know I will never lose that but my legs are what’s the most important.
Thank God i read this. i was freaking out because i couldn’t find some denim pants for me cause the waist part wont get past my thighs for example i would go some store and try some jeans on and i allways think i look fat, but the thing is that i have a pear shaped body, thin waist and 5,2 and its very hard to find pants that look good on me, ugh and that gets on my nerves. and every time i tink in pear shaped body i think of it as a negative thing, i think of being overweight.
after reading this article i was realy happy cause now that i know these actrises that are skinny and beautiful have pear shaped bodies, i think im not that worried anymore, atleast not as much.
But i think they should do more clothes wearable cause not everyone is tall and skinny like a model/manequin.
Just today i found out i was pear shaped, i’m 5’1 and i’m still a little freaked out of my measurements… 36-32-43 1/2… i know i’m not overweight, but i think i need to lose some weight. i’ve alway had problems looking for pants/jeans that fit, since i’m small and have big thighs and behind.
Okay this is just my opinion, but the comments on this page really annoyed me. First of all you can NOT call someone like mariah carey a pear shape! She is more of an inverted triangle because her chest is like 4x bigger than the rest of her body.Since when does having a little thigh make you a pear shape?A pear shape is meant to look like a pear, bigger on the bottom, tapering at the top.You cannot be a pear and have big boobs. It doesn’t make sense. If it were that way you would just be an hourglass.Another thing, just because your chest may be 32 and your hips 34 that two inch difference does not a pear shape make.Okay?Oh,and to the girl that is 5’8 and 115 pounds,do you know you are ALREADY underweight for your height? You should not weigh 100 pounds.Stop losing weight. Why would you wanna look like a piece of celery?I get so sick of women that that are always afraid to eat.A scoop of ice cream will not make you fat.Just be happy and healthy.-A True Pear Shape
Great article! I’m a pear shape and proud of it. My measurements 35-28-42. :)
I am just wondering… what my shape is… 35-29-38.. i think i have this 38 inches in my hips because of my biiiig butt… do you think i am a pear shaped or what? pls assist… thanks
Mariah Carey does not have a pear shape she has no hips i have a pear shape 32-26-39 and i think its a blessing not a curse. you would not believe the amount of guys that hit on me because of it even though i have no boobs. i think women with pear shapes are much more neat, attractive and feminine than even an hour glass and look thinner than them so you guys should be thankful for your feminine figure and try to gain some weight so that you look sexier and not lose your sexy curves. p.s jennifer love hewitt is so sexy
Yes, women’s self-esteem comes from guys hitting on them because that’s the only reason to love oneself and feel positive about our bodies. Such baloney. Feminism is such dog shit.
Thank goodness there’s a blog on this! It’s about time we make it known that curvy is just as good as thin. Don’t know if this makes me pear-shaped, but my measurements are 39-35-44.
Even though I’ve always been a tall (5’7.5″) and thick sort of girl (mom says I get it from dad), but most called me fat because I wasn’t as thin as my sister. Confused me at one point, but time flies and I’ve come to accept and even appreciate my body.
I am a pear shape girl aged 23 mesurements are 30-24-36 and it is something that has bothered me for years I am 51kg and stand at 5’3 I cant say I love my curvey bottom but I am learning to work with it by dressing for my shape not just by fashion and drawing attention to my little waiste I am healthy and work out and diet a lot although my legs are concided thin it the the bone in my hips/ thighs that make up that extra 6 inches, I really appresiate knowing who the pear shapes celbs are to follow styping advise :)
Well, I’m a guy. Pear-shaped women are definitely the best. I’m rather tall and skinny, around 6’3 and 135 pounds. I can’t ever find pants that fit me. Anyway, I’m sick of twiggy supermodels setting the standard for the ideal female figure. I don’t know about anybody else, but I’m definitely not attracted to women who are built like I am. Just look at those people on the signs outside of bathrooms. Which one has a straight rectangular figure and which is pear-shaped? It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that a pearlike shape is what defines the feminine figure. Not fake-titted spray tanned blonde women in pink bikinis. Women need to stop fretting over having thick hips and bottom halves. The reason they evolved those was to allow them to give birth to babies with larger skulls, therefore allowing human intelligence to grow to where it is today. That, friends, is why stupid-ass guys go for the scrawny manbuilt chicks. My girlfriend and I traded jeans once just for fun, hers were floating around me and she couldn’t pull mine up over…nevermind, seeya.
Another misconception is that you have to have very narrow shoulders and small breasts to be Pear Shaped. This is also untrue. The most important thing to classify one as Pear Shaped, is to have wider thighs than hips.
–> It depends on how you classify body shapes. I agree with you that small breasts have nothing to do with being a pear, though it’s more usual, but the hips are supposed to be wider than the shoulders. But most people are a mix of two body shapes and the shape can change with years so it depends on the person you are looking at.
Most of my friends are pear, none look the same. All of them have small shoulders compared to their hips but one of them looks more hourglassy because they are almost the same width (and she had fat arms to “balance” the figure), one of them has very small shoulders and big breasts but still is a pear, even by your definition, but the last one has small shoulder, tiny upper half, no breasts (barely a 30A/B) a waist of 27inches and huge hips and bum (49inches) but her thighs are smaller than her hips, I’m still pretty sure she’s still a pear.
I think there are different kind of “pear shapes” and sometimes you don’t meet all the usual caracteristics but still are a pear.
RE: Jennifer’s T-Shirt- “Save The Future”. Just watch the movie “Back to the Future” over and over again and then you’ll never have to save the future again!
