I’ve purchased 3 pairs of their jeans (dark wash flares, light wash flares, and light wash straight leg), 1 pair of brown pants, 2 pairs of capris (light wash and dark wash), and 3 pairs of bermuda or “city” shorts (pale yellow, white, and dark wash denim).
Something I’ve noticed that is a good thing to keep in mind, is the used ones fit slightly larger than the bran new ones. The jeans do stretch out eventually, but it’s not super noticeable. If you buy a pair of size 4 jeans bran new, after about a year of wearing them at least once a week, they will end up fitting more like a tight 6.
I’m wearing size 2, 4, and 6 in NYDJ jeans and pants. Because the jeans are so incredibly stretchy, I can fit into my loose size 2 jeans.
When you buy NYDJ jeans, purchase the size you normally would wear. If you find a used pair on eBay you want to try, you may want to get the next smallest size.
We recently took a poll on jeans to see what you ladies like to wear. Well, 46% of you like mid-rise jeans. Thank goodness! Most of you are sensible!
A surprising 38% of you voted as preferring low-rise jeans. That’s great if you are a pear shape or slim. We don’t recommend low-rise jeans for apple or round shapes, although hourglass shape can get away with wearing this style.
Only 11% of you said they liked high waisted jeans. Keep in mind, this is a hot trend for spring that may stick around till Fall/Winter 2008 so don’t totally count them out.
Thankfully only 3% of you said you preferred sweatpants! I want to know who you are!! I’m sending Stacy Clinton to your house…

Overall I absolutely LOVE thse jeans!! I have only two complaints and both are more “pains to fix” than a dealbreaker. The first one: BUTTER FINISH & Felines (or any fur shedding animal – even your hubby! ;) don’t mix. They are better than my dustrags for somehow magically attracting dust, dander, and fur … my cat simply walks by the door where I have the pants hung from a hook on the doorframe, and POOF my black pants are suddenly urban camo (shades of gray in splotches with black) despite the cat having been given a big bath and shaved to keep him cool in summer… The second issue is more of a “nag” .. the internal label tags for NYDJ seem to always be placed where they are the most likely to itch and irritate (waist and tush area). it would be great if they had those “quick release” stitches on them the way some other designer lines do .. pull a thread and the itch is gone! Attacking them no-matter-how-gently with a seam ripper usually creates a hole in the jeans and a bloody finger from trying to be “careful” and poking yourself by accident! Other than that .. these are awesome jeans!!
I agree, Great Jeans. I wanted something to hide the middle also. Picked up 2 Pair for 1/2 price from Nordstrom Rack. They had more instock. 108 bucks for 2 pair that sold for 128 before going from Nordstrom to NR.
For tight pants they sure are comfy.
