When Ebates informed me I could get Double Cash Back at Sephora, I ran right over there to grab a bottle of nail polish that has been sitting in my shopping cart for a couple of months… Nails Inc Leather Effect Polish in “Noho”. Black was still full price at $11, but three other colors were on sale for only $7! I decided to get the black though and I’m glad I did.
I was so surprised how easy it applied and how quickly it dried to a ripply “leather like” finish. I applied a second coat several hours later just to be sure I had good coverage.
I was unsure what my husband would think about black nails nails, nevermind with a weird finish to them. Surprisingly he thought it was really neat. He said it looked like “rhino lining” for your nails. LOL
After 5 days, my nails were still in almost perfect condition. Rhino Lining indeed! I touched up the edges of 2 nails and they lasted for 3 more days before completely chipping and cracking. I did NOT use a top coat after reading several other famous ‘nail bloggers’ reviews of this particular polish. I was surprised that some other ladies said it didn’t wear well. I got over a week of wear out of just two coats and a tiny touch up. I was super impressed at the staying power of this nail polish, plus it just looked infinitely cool. The long lasting nature COULD have been because I used Nails Inc Caviar Basecoat ($10). It’s one of my favorite basecoats and it seems to work the best of all the ones I’ve tried.
Overall, I would definitely recommend giving this Leather Effect nail polish a try because the finish really does look like leather and it stays on quite well.
