I have had a purple “Hello Kitty” bathroom in every single apartment / house I have lived in for the last 10 years. Regardless of renting rules, I painted everything single bathroom a gorgeous shade of light lavender to match my Hello Kitty shower curtain and bath mat that I bought shortly after I married my husband.
Well, after almost 10 years of having a purple bathroom in every house I lived in, I finally decided I was ready for a change! Right before we got pregnant with our third, I decided to tackle a mini renovation on our upstairs bathroom. I tried to finish in the allotted time I gave myself to finish the project, but it ended up taking longer than I anticipated (only being able to paint while my kids were napping!) and needing to do two coats of paint to cover the purple. Plus, I painted all the trim bright white! I was horribly tired of the brown wood trim. It was dirty and had 3 different paint colors splattered on it in various places so it was really unattractive.
I chose a gorgeous linen white for the walls and a bright white for the trim. I changed out my Hello Kitty shower curtain for a beautiful and simple white waffle weave shower curtain from Target and a fluffy white bath mat I got on sale for $7 from Home Goods.
Between the two cans of paint, painting supplies and the new accessories, I spent under $100 total to completely change the look of my bathroom. I’m really happy with the results!
That cute little white storage shelf on the right hand side of the toilet is from BrylaneHome.com. I have all my cleaning supplies on the bottom shelf and toilet paper and paper towels on the top shelf. It’s on wheels, so it just slides right out for easy access to everything I need. I love it!
