If there’s one thing I’m passionate about as a mom of 6 kids (aside from a great pair of running shoes), it’s making sure my family is strong, active, and ready to take on whatever life throws our way. It’s no secret that today’s world makes it way too easy to sit, scroll, and snack. But if we want our families to thrive, we have to take action. Literally! Prioritizing physical activity and making healthy food choices isn’t just a trend; it’s a necessity. Whether it’s cooking more meals at home, swapping out processed junk for real, nutrient-packed foods, or simply drinking more water, small changes add up in a big way.
Get Outside & Move!
One of the best things we did last year was commit to spending more time outside. Enter the 1,000 Hours Outside initiative! The goal? To match screen time with nature time, something today’s kids (and let’s be real, parents too) desperately need.
Fresh air, sunshine, and movement are game-changers for both mental and physical health. Whether it’s hiking, biking, or just playing tag in the backyard, getting outside is always a win.
