Lee Jeans is gearing up for Lee National Denim Day, one of the country’s largest single-day fundraisers for breast cancer. This year, October 7 is Lee National Denim Day – a day when supporters nationwide come together to put on their jeans in exchange for contribution to the fight against breast cancer with the goal of raising millions of dollars in a single day. The money raised benefits the Women’s Cancer Programs of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) which include Lee Laboratories, the EIF Breast Cancer Biomarker Discovery Project and Cancer Support Communities.
Also, in its 16th year of the program, Lee is asking people to donate what they would spend on a pair of jeans. So rather than visit Lee.com to purchase some new jeans, Lee is encouraging people to visit DenimDay.com and make a donation to the fight against breast cancer. How cool is that?!
Net proceeds from Lee National Denim Day will benefit the Women’s Cancer Programs of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) to:
- Benefit Lee Laboratories nationwide, which work to find more effective, less toxic treatments for breast cancer and increase patient access to some of the most significant clinical trials in the nation.
- Support a multi-year effort led by world-class scientists to develop a blood test for earlier detection of breast cancer when survival rates are the highest, known as the EIF Breast Cancer Biomarker Discovery Project.
- Fund the Cancer Support Community (CSC), an international non-profit dedicated to providing support, education and hope to all people affected by cancer. CSC provides the highest quality emotional and social support through a network of nearly 50 local affiliates, including The Wellness Community and Gilda’s Club, more than 100 satellite locations and online.
