Land’s End Chinos: Bring on the Boys…

I don’t know what it is about boys and their ability to destroy pants, but ever since my son started crawling, he has managed to shred his way through literally hundreds of pairs of pants.  Even now that he is in middle school and forced to wear a school uniform, he (and his friends, I might add) manage to wear through the knees of pants in very short order.  Which can make for an expensive uniform if torn pants don’t fit the code!   I was recently given the opportunity to have him test drive a pair of Iron Knees® trousers from the Land’s End School Uniform department.

 

I was thrilled to notice that the material for both the trousers and the reinforcement is very lightweight yet durable, and there are no tell tale signs of extra material or bulk in the knee area.  The pants hang nicely on the leg.  My son likes the fit – he says that the waist is comfortable and the slimmer fit in the leg is “cool” – very important in middle school!  It has only been a week, but already the pants have survived three bouts in the laundry, some heavy duty grass stains, and a run in with a bottle of katsup.  The pants are winning.  They wash well, don’t require ironing, and there are no fuzzy patches in the knee area to indicate that there are any signs of wear.  According to the Land’s End Catalogue, the Plain Front Iron Knees Stain & Wrinkle Resistant Chino Pants are:
