So many different brands, always trying to get your attention and screaming that they are the best. Who’s really the best though? That’s not a straightforward answer. What works well for one person’s body might not work on someone else’s body at all.
When it comes to underwear, I’ve found that some women are really picky like myself, while others just wear whatever they have and never think much about it.
Personally, I’m really picky about my underwear. While some brands are my favorite while pregnant or 25+ pounds overweight, those same brands aren’t my favorite once I’ve lost weight because my body is shaped differently and I have different needs.
One thing that all my undergarments much have as a feature is they absolutely MUST be seamless! I’d rather not wear a thong everyday just to avoid a panty line showing through my leggings, yoga pants or thin jeans.
When I first heard about KnixWear underwear, one the first things that caught my attention was that they promised to be seamless. “Hmmm we’ll see about that!” I thought.
I chose the high rise styles, one with their leak proof liner and one without. The undies arrived very quickly and the packaging was very impressive. Each pair arrives in its own cardboard tube and both were placed neatly in a cool, mesh bag with a zipper on it.
The amazingly luxurious, comfortable fabric that these are made out of, set them apart from the crowd. What takes them over the top is the FreshFix Technology that eliminate the need for pantyliners. The built in liner is anti-microbial, adsorbent (1-3 tsp!) and the sides and bottom are leak resistant making these seamless undies a great basic for everyday or while on your period.
The black pair has the FreshFix leak proof liner and the beige pair has the regular FreshFix lining. Both undies are the same shape and material, the only difference is the liner.
Now, needless to say, after having three children, I personally prefer to wear a pantyliner daily to stay feeling fresh and dry. There are days when I can easily go without a pantyliner with no problems, but if it’s during my “fertile” week of the month and I’m ovulating, all bets are off.
In order to fully test the limits of these undies, I’ve been wearing them under different circumstances for the past four months.
Here is the verdict…..
I love them.ย
Why? Well, first off, I love that they are truly seamless under clothes. I’ve worn them with leggings, yoga pants, skin tight dresses, jeggings and more. They were almost completely invisible under everything I tried them with.
Secondly, the liners are great. Even the non leak-proof liner is quite absorbent and does not leave me feeling like I wish I had worn a pantyliner. The leak proof liner is surprisingly stiff in comparison to the silky, floppy material that the rest of the undies are made out of, but once you put them on, I find it unnoticeable. It’s just a bit disconcerting straight out of the package. I did not find it bulky or uncomfortable while wearing it though. It’s definitely sufficient for wearing during your fertile week of the month in addition to light flow days during your period or as backup for your menstrual cup or tampon.
The material of the underwear itself is quite thin, lightweight and very breathable so they are great for the summer months, even though they are very high waisted. Perfect for wearing during workouts too. (Although I hear Knix has a line of athletic undies too!)
I personally think KnixWear undies run slightly big. Might just be this particular high waisted style though! I would still suggest purchasing a size down if you even think you might be in between sizes. I got both pairs in a size medium and they were not at all tight on my 145lb body. Fast forward 4 months and I can barely keep them up on my 120lb body!!! ย I wish I had gotten these in a size small and had them a little too snug at first because now they are so big on me I can’t even wear them anymore and that makes me sad because I love them so much!!!!
I’ve never fallen completely in love with a pair of underwear that cost under $20 a pair, so don’t let the price point of these undies scare you off. KnixWear undies are around $20 for thongs, $23 for boy shorts, $22 for bikinis, and around $25 for the high rise. Prices are dependent on whether you choose the leak proof liner or not. Their athletic line FitKnix runs around the same price, while their sexy Knixy line run about $20 -$32 a pair.
I usually wash my undies by hand in the sink or in a lingerie bag on delicate cycle in my washing machine. I never put undies in the dryer! I’ve found that hand washing and air drying my expensive undergarments make them last a very long time. I’ve put my KnixWear undies in a lingerie bag on the delicate cycle numerous times and they still look like new. It’s only been four months, but I’m very impressed with how well they have held up.
