Mother’s Day is a time of year where we get to celebrate the woman who gave us life and brought us up. Our mother is the most wonderful person and for all she does for us during our life, it is important to refinish it once a year on this special day.
As we know; this year is quite a bit different to before and many of us won’t be able to see our mother on the day due to COVID restrictions. If you live with your mother at home or you don’t, today we want to share some ways to make Mother’s Day special even during the pandemic.
Send flowers
One of the easiest ways to show your mom how much you care is to send a bunch of flowers to her house on the day. Mother’s Day is a great time to shop for flowers because spring is just beginning and there are some stunning blooms out there. You can either choose to get a bunch of flowers or even a live plant if you know your mom would prefer to have a feature that lasts.
Have a virtual spa day
If you don’t live with your mom and want to make mothers day special this year, a great idea would be to do a virtual spa day with her. A virtual spa day can consist of a zoom call, a few beauty treatments, and some champagne to enjoy. Call each other and spend time talking as you pour yourself a drink and enjoy some beauty treatments together. Even if you aren’t at a real spa you can still bring that self-care feeling home and it will be a fun way to spend some time with your mom this year and keep your long distance relationship alive.
Have a virtual movie night
If your mom has a certain movie or musical she loves to watch – a great idea would be to set up movies at your houses with snacks and wine and go on a Zoom call for the duration. Again, even though you aren’t in the same place it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the same activity and it can be a fun way to enjoy her company and make her feel special on the day.
Go for a walk
Some activities are still allowed during the pandemic and for some, meeting for walks outside is acceptable. Enjoy a sunny walk in the countryside with your mom on Mother’s Day and take her to one of her favourite places. It will be a great way to enjoy each other’s company and will allow you to spend some time in person.
Make breakfast in bed
If you still live at home with your mom and you will be stuck at home this Mother’s Day – an early winner is always breakfast in bed. Consider making breakfast in bed for your mom on Mother’s Day and show her how special she is to you.
