My hair is frizzy, thick and usually quick unmanageable. I get to review a lot of shampoos and conditioners in my line of work here, but most of them do not work for me. I know it’s not my incompetence because sometimes my stylish has trouble with my hair too. Some products just don’t work in my hair. So when I find something that works and gives me great results every single time without fail, well I just have to tell you ladies about it!
1. The Hair Brush
I’ve tried a LOT of hair brushes. I mean honestly, I’ve been doing this fashion/beauty blogging thing for like 8 years now. I have personally tried at least 2 dozen brushes and I have finally found GOLD!
I can use the same salon or salon quality shampoo and conditioner, under the same weather conditions and blowdry my hair the same exact way. But if I do it with two different brushes on two different days, it will come out totally different! Who would have thought?
The brush that I consistently get the best results from is the Olivia Garden Kerabrush Hair Brush, 2.75″ ($19.99 via Amazon).
It dries quickly due to the large vents, which is something I need because I have SO MUCH HAIR. To me, this is a great feature. I also love that the brush is metal free and infused with tourmaline ions that add luster and sheen to hair. Perfect for hair that has had a keratin treatment or anyone that normally has frizzy, unmanageable or hard to tame hair.
2. The Moroccan Oil And Hair Serums
I’ve tried lots of styling creams, oils, serums, etc in my hair. Some are sticky, some are dry and some make my hair even thicker and MORE unmanageable! Fortunately, I’ve found a few items that work well in my hair.
This Moroccan Oil Treatment is an ultra-light formula which is absorbed by the hair instantly, resulting in a natural, silky finish and brilliant shine without leaving a residue. This treatment has the ability to restore over-processed hair damaged by environmental factors and chemical procedures. Moroccan Oil revives, hydrates, and most importantly, detangles hair, wigs and hair extensions.
This stuff is seriously magical. I received a sample to review in an order from Sephora and the first time I tried it, I was amazed. Then my salon started carrying the line of products and when my stylist, Jon, used it in my hair, I was definitely hooked. My hair always looks amazing when I use the Moroccan Oil.
I also like Eden Allure Pure Argan Oil from Morocco, Amal Oils 100% Organic Argan Oil and my all-time favorite – Eufora Beautifying Serum.
3. The Shampoo & Conditioner
I am really picky about my shampoo and conditioners. I will try anything once but if it claims silky smoothness and my hair ends up being twice as thick and twice as frizzy, it’s out the door quick and I don’t even bother posting about it! (Nobody likes bad news!) That said, when I find a duo that works great, I’m likely to use it until the bottles are empty and then buy more.
One of those duos that I repeatedly purchase are John Freida Radiant Red Color Magnifying Shampoo and John Frieda Radiant Red Color Magnifying Daily Conditioner
.
My other favorite duo, which is more on the pricey side, but is totally worth it is Eufora Beautifying Elixirs™ Moisture Intense Shampoo and Conditioner. Heavenly.
4. The Hairdryer & Straightener
I’m still on the prowl for the “perfect” blowdryer, but the one that has served me well for many years is the Inifiniti by Conair 228 Nano Silver Tourmaline Ceramic Styler in White ($39.99)
I’ve been using this one for about 4 or 5 years now and I don’t have any complaints other than my hair takes a long time to dry, but I don’t really think it’s the hairdryers fault necessarily. It’s not like it takes a significantly longer time to do my hair myself than it takes my stylist, so I can only speculate. My dryer came with 3 attachments which come in handy quite often and I use them regularly. Overall, I’ve been pretty happy with this hair dryer, which is why I haven’t bought a new one. I think I will wait till this one comes to the end of it’s life to replace it because I can’t imagine another hair dryer being too much better than this one other than insignificant features like being lighter weight or maybe having a more convenient cord.

My mom’s favorite hair dryer is the Bed Head Bh407 1875 Watt Ionic Turbo Dryer. It’s lightweight enough for her to handle easily and she loves how it performs. I’ve used it before and I also love the fact that it’s lightweight. This is an important feature for me since it takes so long to dry my hair that if it’s a heavy blow dryer, I just give up before I’m done because my arm is about to break off.
The official details of this blow dryer…
If you want shinier hair and less frizz, then you will love bed head’s 1875 watt ionic turbo dryer. Ionic technology leaves your hair shinier and less frizzy with healthy looking results. For drying and styling flexibility, 2 heat and speed settings are offered with professional rocker switches, plus a cold shot button that releases cool air to set your style. The included concentrator attachment allows for precise styling. The removable end cap makes it easy to clean and maintain.

All hair straighteners are definitely not built the same! I have found a huge amount of variance in temperature, handling, features, functionality and overall performance. I’ve gone through probably a dozen or so flat irons in the past 10 years. I have finally found one I’m going to stick with though.
The HANA Elite Flat Iron 1.5″ from Misikko is the best flat iron I’ve tried so far. Works quickly, easy to handle, excellent cord, easy to accurately adjust the temperature and works great every single time. If you are frustrated with your flat iron and want a salon quality result, you should check out Hana Flat Irons.

5. Dry Shampoo

Don’t let all your hard work go to waste! Once your perfect blowout starts getting a little dull or greasy, bring it back to life with dry shampoo. This can help extend the time between washes which not only saves you money, but saves you time!
My favorite dry shampoos are Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo ($20) and Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo Spray ($3). Huge price difference, yet very similar results. I prefer the smell of the Suave one, over the Drybar one, however, the Suave Dry Shampoo makes my hair slightly sticky while the Drybar Dry Shampoo is actually very dry, almost like powder so I find it makes my hair appear slightly duller. So depending on which products I’ve used for my blowout, I have to carefully select which dry shampoo will work best to serve my needs that particular day. I recommend keeping both on hand.
Tell me what products you use to get a great hair day and let me know if you have any questions about the products I use!
