Cleaning is theย bane of every mother’s existence. However, cleaning doesn’t need to take up a lot of your time and energy. If you want to spend less time cleaning and more time having fun with your kids, check out our tips in this home cleaning guide.
Develop a habit
Making your bed for two minutes before getting out of it and throwing the trash in the bin right away are both easy habits that are fast and easy to do. So is putting dirty clothes in a hamper inside your room. Do these things every day and you will find that there are fewer things that you need to do when it comes to cleaning your home.
Clean while you sleep
What can be more lazy-friendly than a house that cleans itself while you sleep? Nothing. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been invented yet. Here’s the next best thing: soak the toilet, sink and shower head with equal parts vinegar and water. Spray vinegar on the toilet and sink and leave overnight. For the shower head, place water and vinegar solution in a plastic bag. Place the shower head inside it and secure with a rubber band. When you wake up in the morning, do a quick rinse.
Take care of your microwave
A microwave is a gadget that was invented for lazy people. It is also a kitchen appliance that can accumulate the most food bacteria over time. Thankfully, even cleaning the microwave can be quick and easy with the help of a water and vinegar mixture. Get a microwave safe bowl and pour 1/4 cup of vinegar into 2 cups of water. Microwave for 3 minutes on full power. After this, wipe down with a microfiber cloth and your microwave is as good as new.
Declutter
Cabinets, drawers, and baskets are great for organizing but if you constantly hide clutter in these containers, they can get really disorganized. If you are in a pinch though, chucking stuff in drawers can help you fake having a clean house. This is great for emergencies like when you have guests arriving and you only have a few minutes to tidy up. These containers are also useful when you actually find the willpower to clean. Putting aside clutter before cleaning makes the process faster and easier. Don’t clean up by hiding messes all the time though or it will eventually catch up with you!
Donate Unused Items
Having less stuff means less cleaning. Take two bags and put away everything that you haven’t used in a while. Place all items that can be valuable to others and donate them. On a separate bag, place items that are not useful and throw them away.
Getting rid of your things can be hard. To be lazy, you have to be tough. A good guide to follow is that all the things that you have not used in six months are candidates for decluttering. That dress you have at the back of the closet, the one you were saving for when it is in style again, consider placing it in the bag and sending it off to ThredUp.
