11 Incredible Things That Will Help To Create A Healthy Headspace

Creating a healthy headspace is key if you want to be your happiest most productive self. However, a healthy headspace isn’t just something you work towards and achieve once – it’s something you have to work towards every single day. You have to get into the right habits and ensure you’re doing the right things to keep your headspace in a good place. Bear in mind that progress isn’t linear, and there will be times you feel like you’ve gone backwards. That’s fine, as long as you don’t beat yourself up and you continue attempting to make healthy changes so you can be the best version of yourself!

Below, you’ll find 11 incredible things that will help you to create a healthy headspace:

1. Eating Right And Staying Hydrated

If you’re constantly eating fast food, sweets, and other junk, then you’re not going to feel your best. Your food choices should be based on what’s going to help you to feel your best and give you energy throughout the day – not what the cheapest, easiest option is. Your tastes will change once you make changes to your diet. You’ll find you start craving vegetables more often than sweets! Do your best to make smart choices, and don’t forget to stay hydrated. Water is key to flushing out toxins and feeling great!

2. Daylight

Getting some daylight everyday is also a must – this is why so many people suffer from SAD in winter time. They just aren’t getting enough sunlight. Make sure you get outside wherever possible, and if you experience symptoms of SAD, don’t hesitate to get a SAD lamp. Light therapy can be very powerful!

3. A Type Of Exercise That You Really Enjoy

If you don’t think exercise is for you, think again. There are so many different types out there, you probably just haven’t found the one you really like. Weight lifting, swimming, walking – it all counts. Find something that makes you feel strong, confident, and empowered and you’ll want to stick to it. Even exercising for a small amount of time each day can help you get into a better frame of mind.

4. Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy and essential oils work like magic for some people. They can lift your mood in a matter of moments, and all you have to do is inhale deeply! You can use them on your wrists, in a diffuser, in your bath, or make your own perfume with them. Look for terpenes for sale if you’re interested in making your own blends – just ensure you do your research so you can create something that works for your specific needs.

5. Spending Time With Positive People

Did you know that if you spend time with people who are negative, you’re more likely to be negative too? We become like the people we spend the most time around, so if the people you’re spending time with make you feel drained, it could be time to reassess your circle. See if you can meet new people, and cut out people who you know aren’t good for you. This alone will make a huge impact in your life and help you create a health headspace.

6. Spending A Little Time Each Day On Self Development

Even if you spend 10-20 minutes in the morning on self development, it can make a huge difference to your day, and life overall. You can listen to podcasts on the commute to work, read books, or even watch YouTube. There are so many amazing people out there who want to share their advice for free or at least cost effectively. You can find ways to make your habits come naturally to you, get up even earlier in the morning, pray every day, and much more.

7. Journaling

Journaling, whether done morning, night, or both can have a huge impact on your overall mindset. When you journal, you can get all of the junk out of your head. It relieves stress and helps you to look at problems objectively so you can come up with solutions. Studies have even shown that reading back on your journals later on down the line can bring happiness. Some people like to do ‘morning pages’, which are all about taking some time in the morning to set intentions for the day and get excited about them. You could even do night pages, where you get all of your worries out of your head, often resulting in a better sleep. If you’re the kind of person who always feels like they have a lot going on in your head, this could really help you!

If you know you’ll struggle to make a habit of this, there are other options. The 5 minute journal is exactly that; you spend a few minutes in the morning and at night filling it in, setting intentions, and working towards your goals.

8. Prayer and Meditation

Prayer can be a fantastic way to get in touch with your soul and clear your mind. Beyond the obvious benefits of deepening your faith, it can promote a sense of well-being, reduce stress, improve your sleep, and so much more. You don’t have to be on your knees, you can pray however you like and in a way that’s comfortable for you. There are plenty of apps and videos online that can help you if you want to get started. If you aren’t sure what to say or how to pray, start by meditating on the things you’d like to improve about yourself or your life. Prayer and meditation on God can help your life in a countless number of ways. If you aren’t used to praying, it can seem like a daunting task at first, but once you get started, it will seem like second nature and you’ll love the results you experience.

9. Get Plenty of Sleep

Go to bed at the same time every night and get up at the same time every morning. Get your body into a great routine so you’re getting a good night’s sleep each night. Make sure your mattress is suitable, too! We recommend a copper infused memory foam mattress to get your best night’s sleep. The copper helps you sleep cooler and not overheat and the memory foam gently cradles your body for a more comfortable, restfull night’s sleep.

10. Cutting Back On Alcohol (and other drugs)

Consuming alcohol often has a negative effect on mindset. Many people get something called “beer fear” which is terrible anxiety the next day – more than just a hangover! Long term overuse can lead to huge problems both physically and mentally. Opioids are an epidemic right now too. If you are having a problem with drugs or alcohol, please seek help from a local rehab center.

11. Be Mindful Of What You Consume

This isn’t about what you eat, but about things like social media and magazines. A huge portion of the messages we are bombarded with each day are not positive and can do more harm than good. Be mindful of who you follow and what you read! Surround yourself with positive people, messages, and news and you will be a much happier person!
