Hammock Massage On The Rooftop At The Ritz-Carlton in Orlando

Our contributor, Bonnie, aka The Fashionable Grandma, had the opportunity to experience a Hammock Massage on the rooftop at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Grande Lakes, Florida. Here’s what she had to say about her amazing experience…

I arrived early enough to have a salad in the Vitalé Spa Cafe before my appointment. Delicious….

I was then escorted to the “locker-room” to change into my Calispia bamboo t-shirt and pants that were handed to me along with a long, thick white robe and shoes. The bamboo clothing was soooo soft and comfortable… I really didn’t want to give that T-shirt back!

I then was introduced to Michelle Giammarinaro, the sweet little therapist, who brought me up to the rooftop where I was about to have the most uniquely wonderful experience.

The “rooftop eco-space” was a beautiful little oasis: a private terrace on the roof. A green sod roof surrounded by a beautiful atmosphere of water, plants, herbs, flowers, soothing aromas, lovely music and of course fresh, warm Florida air. It was heavenly!

Lying perpendicular in the hammock, my body was cuddled softly like a cocoon while gently swaying rhythmically. Laying in the warm Florida air, listening to Michael Bublé, surrounded by the scents of fresh herbs, in the most comfortable bamboo clothing I have ever had on (I did not want to give back that bamboo shirt). Michelle, maneuvered above and below stretching achy joints and performing massage with hands, knees, elbows and feet while keeping my hammock swaying back and forth… Very talented!

After my massage, I had the opportunity to lounge in the “coed lounging area”; a very large open room surrounded with large cushy chairs and soft fluffy throws and large bowls of fruit everywhere – such luxury. I then went down to enjoy a sauna and a shower… and then hating to leave, and hating to give up that bamboo t-shirt… I got dressed. Everyone there was so kind and gracious. I truly loved the experience and thank everyone for such an enjoyable experience.

I would definitely recommend the Rooftop Hammock Massage to anyone vacation at the Ritz-Carlton, Orlando, Grande Lakes, or even staying within driving distance of there. It was truly an amazing experience.
