I love that Drew and Cameron are two of the bestest friends in Hollyweird. They seem so honest about it, not in a Katie Holmes (Cruise?) and Posh way. They seem like they are always having fun with each other and I know that we all have a girlfriend like that.
I know this isn’t a fashion post necessarily, but I thought it would be good to give you a few ideas to do to go out with your best girlfriend and enjoy yourselves.
Me and one of my dear friends make it a point to go out every Thursday night and catch up with each other for the week. It gets us face to face contact and we help each other with whatever issues may be going on that week. We always have a couple of cocktails and end the night with a big fat pizza. Even if you don’t have a bunch of crazy girls out getting drunk together, it’s always nice to get out and enjoy some time with your girl.
I also meet with one of my other great friends every two weeks for us to get manicures and pedicures. It’s always a nice little treat and it allows us time to catch up without the kids. It’s always good to feel pampered and you leave feeling a little bit better about the day and week ahead.
Usually once to twice a year, me and a few girlfriends will hop in the car and head out of town for a “Girls Weekend Away”. It’s usually arranged around an important event, like a birthday or something, but it’s always nice to get out of town and not know anyone and just have fun. The last time we did it, it was one of my friends birthdays and we preplanned to get a great deal on a hotel and we had a blast singing karaoke and using fake names all night long.
Far away trips are good too. Me and my friend from work are going to a friends birthday party in Seattle. We are really excited because it allows us time to have fun while being with each other.
A lot of people do yard sales during the summer months, but why not clean out your closet and have a clothes swapping party? Get all the girls together and have cocktails and appetizers while going through each others hand-me-downs. You never know, one of your friends could be getting rid of a top that you’ve always loved. It’s a great way to have fun without spending too much money! And you might go home with a great find.
Lunch is always a good way to get a group of girls together. Yesterday, in fact I got together with about 5 friends for an extended lunch. Kids were not excluded, so there were a few there, but it is a good way to get friends that don’t always know each other that great to get to know each other better. We sat around and chat chitted for a couple of hours and I made a new friend!
