Yup, I found it folks. This is it. The mother of all nail polish has been discovered and it comes from Bio Seaweed Gel.
Not only does this gel polish “cure” (aka dry) in the sun, but it’s the ONLY healthy gel nail polish on the market that can be used at home yet is still salon quality!
No UV lamp to dry? No problem. Just let the sun do it for you!
You won’t find any of the “Big 5” harmful chemicals that are usually present in gel polish in Bio Seaweed Gel polishes. Free of formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, BHA and solvents Bio Seaweed Gel has created a safe gel polish formula that wonโt leave your nails dry or damaged. As an added bonus, it’s also odor free!
One bottle of Bio Seaweed Gel’s “Unity” does the work of 3 bottles of other gel polishes! With Unity, you get a base coat, rich color and a topcoat with added nail strengtheners all in 1 easy to use formula.
Sounds totally amazing right? Yeah… So of course I just HAD to try it out and see if it lived up to all it’s claims.
* I got a complimentary bottle of 228 “Very Berry” to test out and review along with No Wipe Top Coat.
I polished my nails with 2 coats of Very Berry on 3/13. The first coat I dried in direct sunlight outside and it took about 2 minutes but it was a slightly cloudy day. So I decided to dry the second coat with my UV lamp and that took 30 seconds per hand.
I did a really messy job as you can see…
I have 3 kids so I don’t have the luxury of doing my nails usually. So needless to say, it took me 2 days before I got the no-wipe top coat on my nails.
Here is what my nails looked like on 3/15 after applying the no-wipe top coat and curing it with my UV lamp…
I figured I would take another shot of my nails on 3/17 after some of the gel polish finally wore off of my skin…
At this point I was really impressed how perfect my manicure looked. I mean, yeah it had only been 4 days but I am really hard on my nails. Did I mention I have 3 kids? I’m in the kitchen for at least 50% of the day doing dishes, washing counters, cooking, washing my hands and banging my nails up in every way possible. I don’t bother putting rubber gloves on to wash pots or toilets. Ain’t nobody got time for dat! So as you might imagine, manicures don’t normally last on my nails for more than a week, tops, regardless of the brand. For my nails to look like I just polished them 4 days later is nothing short of a miracle.
Well, imagine my surprise when my nails were still nearly perfect after 14 DAYS??
My nails grew out quite a bit but NO CHIPS! Isn’t that incredible?! It actually lasted 14 days just as advertised. I left it on for an additional 2 days only because I didn’t have time to figure out how to remove it. Normally my nail polish chips off almost completely leaving me with little need to even know where I keep my nail polish remover. This stuff wasn’t about to go anywhere though!
I got on Amazon and purchased some Soak Off Gel Nail Wraps and waited 2 days for them to arrive. (The soak off nail wraps I bought are awesome btw!) Just 5 minutes with these puppies strapped on my nails and the gel polish became super soft and then scratched off easily with a little wooden stick.
I expected my poor nails to look like crap after I got the gel polish off, but once again Bio Seaweed Gel surprised me. My nails looked fine! They weren’t all splintered and ravaged like I expected them to be. There was a slight “feathering” on the end of my thumb nail and that’s about it.
I moisturized my nails with Derma E Skin Hair and Nail Oil, making sure to really rub it into my nails and cuticles. I gave my nails a “rest” for a few days before polishing them.
Overall, I am over-the-moon impressed with Bio Seaweed Gel. Hands down the BEST nail polish I’ve ever used. Not only did it live up to it’s bold claims even under harsh conditions but it left my nails in great condition afterwards. What more could you ask for?
A bottle of UNITY costs $18 and the no-wipe top coat is $20. I spent another $18 to get the soak-off nail wraps to make it easy to remove the gel polish but you can save the cash and remove gel polish at home yourself with cotton balls, acetone and aluminum foil. You can use any UV lamp to cure this polish or just head outside and let us cure in the sun (saving you even more cash!)
So for the same price of going to the salon to get your nails done, you can get everything you need to do at least 24+ manicures at home. Your nails will look just as good, if not better.
I’m sold.
