There are tons of new trends hitting runways for Spring 2011, but a few of them really caught my eye. The best part?
These trends are actually wearable for real women – super models need not apply!
Spring 2011 Trends To Try:
1. Bangles
Bangle bracelets are infinitely wearable and are the perfect go-to accessory when you want to update your look quickly and affordably. If you’re a bargain hunter like I am, you can easily find a few bangle bracelets to spice up your wardrobe for less than $10. Forever21 has a great selection of bangles starting at $1.50 (yes, you read that right!)
2. ‘70’s inspired Dresses
Whether your tastes run on the bohemian side or you love getting dolled up with flair and sophistication, you’ll love the 70’s revival we saw on runways! Think sleek, satiny retro gowns in deep jewel tones for night, or high waist pants and a bell-sleeve top for day.
3. Sheer Clothing
While not new, sheer layers have made a huge statement on the runways for Spring 2011. To make this potentially X-rated trend work for you in the real world, stay away from clothing that leaves nothing to the imagination. Instead, wear a nude camisole under something filmy and sheer for a hint of sex appeal without the, ahem, inappropriate visuals.
4. Bright Colors
What better way to welcome Spring than with a huge palette of gorgeous bright and bold colors to choose from? Citrus hues, turquoise, and other tropical shades are making a splash on runways and you can easily pull off this look too. If you’re too shy to go totally bold in a bright orange dress, for example, you can still add a flash of color to your outfit with a bright accessory (think a hot pick statement ring or a turquoise belt.)
Spring 2011 promises to be an amazing time for fashion, and all of the trends highlighted above are totally wearable for real women.
Which trend are you the most excited for?
Ok, well I don’t know about the sheer clothing but the bangles and the bright colors I can embrace! What I love about the bangles is they’re reasonably priced and you don’t have to buy the designer brand in order to be in style! I have friends who not only love fashion, but know how to make it work within their budget. They both graduated from FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising so they know a lot about fashion. They told me that FIDM has a lot of great programs in the fashion industry and that the school has a great reputation in the fashion industry. They both have great careers since gradauting from FIDM and loved their experience at the school. Check out their website if you want more info on their programs or if you love fashion and may want to make a career out of it!
