My friend and I had a great idea to put together an advent calendar printable so each day your child or children could pull out a surprise from their advent calendar – a new cookie or holiday baked good that they could bake with you that day!
Everyone loves baking this time of year and what could possibly be better to put in your child’s advent calendar than quality time with you and some fun learning how to bake cookies too!
We put together our 24 favorite cookies and baked goods to make with our kids this time of year (we have 7 kids between the two of us!) and we know you’ll enjoy them too! You can cut them out from the printable and do them in any order you like, except for the St. Nicholas Cookie that should obviously be made on December 6th – Saint Nicholas Day!

Here are our favorite recipes for each of the cookies and baked goods featured in the printable. As I said, you can select whichever treat you want to make each day except the St. Nicholas Cookie which should go in your Number 6 pocket on your advent calendar.
Here are the recipes in order of which they appear, starting at the top left.
- Gingerbread Man Cookies
- Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Peppermint Bark
- Chocolate Blackberry Macarons
- Thumbprint Cookies
- Candy Cane Cookies
- Sugar Cookie Christmas Trees
- Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies
- Gingersnap Cookies
- Peanut Butter Cookies
- Italian Rainbow Cookies
- Christmas M&M Cookies
- Chocolate Pudding Pie
- Snowman Cupcakes
- Gingerbread House
- Santa Brownies
- Peppermint Cake Pops
- Yule Log
- Snickerdoodle Cookies
- Saint Nicholas Cookies (Saint Nicholas 3D Printed Cookie Cutter)
- Christmas Pretzel Rods
- Chocolate Donut Christmas Wreaths
- Chocolate Truffes
- Fruit Tarlets
You can easily print and cut out the different cookies to place each one in a different pocket of your advent calendar, whichever cookies you like best. You could even laminate them and write the names of the cookies on the back if you wanted to! You don’t have to make all the cookies or use all the recipes either.
The Advent Calendar
No matter which one you choose, your kids are sure to enjoy spending quality time with you and making cookies and baked goods every day until Christmas! Arguably much better than small plastic junk they are going to lose or meaningless chocolate or candy that will just get them sugared up for an hour. At least if they are in the kitchen, you can be teaching them something while they are having fun!
