The Luna Park Chalk Art Festival is back for its 12th year! This year, the event is set to draw so many people to the festivities, with over 3,000 students, artists, and vendors planning to make the trip to the festival grounds at Backestro Park. Original artwork, recreations of classic images, and Madonarri-styled Italian street paintings will be among the 250 pieces of chalk art created by artists and students at the festival.
The 2019 Luna Park Chalk Art Festival will take place over the weekend of Saturday, September 21 to Sunday, September 22.
The festival will also showcase local performers, musicians, and dancers to entertain the throngs. Your favorite local food trucks and vendors will be on hand to offer food and refreshments.

Chalk space is available at the Luna Park Chalk Art Festival for artists of all ages and experience levels. The four chalk space sizes range from 4’x4′ to 8’x8′. The cost of these spaces ranges from $10 to $20.
School And Youth Programs
Youth programs and schools can register for space at the Luna Park Chalk Art Festival free of charge. The space available for K-12 students is 8’x8′. Chalk and soft pastels will also be made available to students.
A waiver signed by a parent or guardian is necessary for each member of a student team. A team leader who is 18 years or older is also required.
Vendor Booths
Booths are available for vendors who want to sell their handmade arts and crafts items at the Chalk Art Festival. Vendor space is 10’x10′ and a valid sales permit issued by the state of California is required.
