The best way to celebrate Fourth of July is by spending time with family, friends, and loved ones. Many are still wanting to practice safe social distancing, and others are ready to gather in large groups again. However, if you’re wanting to celebrate Fourth of July as a family, rest assured that there are plenty of ways to make it a special day. Make this 4th of July one to remember!
Enjoying the Outdoors

A simple family hike with a picnic at the end by a stream, waterfall, or body of water can be an enjoyable experience for any outdoor-loving family and a great way to celebrate Fourth of July. Do some research and find a hike nearby that works for your family, taking into consideration how many people will be coming, their ages, and the hike’s level of difficulty. Make sure to pack foods that will last on your hike, and wear comfortable outdoor gear so that you can last through the entire hike. One of my go-to companies for long-lasting outdoor gear is Jack Wolfskin.
Spend the Day at the Beach

A family day at the beach while keeping some distance between others can give you the fresh air you need while still being cautious. Bring towels and sunscreen, a sunshade and beach chairs, and plenty of treats and drinks to enjoy a relaxing day in the sun and sand. If there’s a baby in the family, make sure to pack all of the baby essentials to keep your little one happy. I love having something with plenty of pockets and extra space for all of those baby must-haves, like these diaper bags from Ergobaby! This is a great way to celebrate Fourth of July.
Block Party

If you’re comfortable participating in larger gatherings, planning a neighborhood block party with your neighbors to celebrate Fourth of July can be fun while still remaining close to home. Chat with your neighbors to make a plan and give everyone an assignment for the party- put someone in charge of drinks, another in charge of music, divvy out different assignments for food, and see who would be willing to contribute their grill. Encourage everyone to wear red, white, and blue and let everyone party the day away! It doesn’t have to stop there though! Make this one a night to remember by hiring Orlando photo booths. Guests can walk away with a keepsake to reminisce about the day for years to come.
At-Home Fun

If you’re not quite ready to be around crowds to celebrate Fourth of July, don’t stress it- you can always make the fun happen at home! Consider ways that you can get creative in making lasting memories with your family while staying home and social distancing. Can’t go to the movie theater? Find a projector and watch a movie outside. Looking to make outside play a bit more exciting? Consider finding a local shop where you can rent or even buy a bounce house or inflatable slide. While the kids bounce the afternoon away, grill up some food and brainstorm some spots where the family can park to watch a local fireworks show.
