‘Athleisure’ is the word on everyone’s lips these days, and dare we say, much of the credit for fashionable workout clothes goes to names like Stella McCartney, one of the world’s most talked about designers of casual and athletic wear. Many items from her collections have made their way into streetwear fashion, including ‘knit string bras’, leggings, and bandeaus. Stella really knows fashionable workout clothes better than anyone.
In this post, we highlight ways in which you can bring items from the gym into your daywear, adding a touch of modernity to a casual look.

Combining Volume
Stars like Rihanna, Ellie Goulding, or Katy Perry are masters at blending so-called fashionable workout clothes and stylish athletic gear (think athletic bras, crop tops and other ‘tiny’ tops) with voluminous pants, capris, and shorts, topping off the lock with an oversized open hooded or army-style jacket. This allows them to show off their athletic physique while remaining comfortable. An athletic bra works as well during the day as at night. The key to blending it with oversized clothing at night time is to opt for items with a bit of bling. Metallic pants look great with a tiny top, as do mid-calf-length capris and even wide-bottomed soft pants. Take it to the other extreme by combining leggings in bright prints with an oversized hooded sweatshirt and an unexpected pair of shoes (for instance, ankle length suede boots instead of sneakers). Supportive leggings and bras can be as functional as they are great looking. The right leggings can lend the tummy area a firm, flatter look, while a sports bra is great for a bit of extra support while dancing, running, or brisk walking! Some sports bras are made with
Wear Sneakers with Dresses
This look is huge, and not only in cities like the Big Apple, where walking for a few blocks or running to the subway is the order of the day. Vloggers, fashion bloggers and celebrities alike are pairing fitting dresses (think just-below-the-knee-length) with sneakers. Converse continues to be one of the favorite brands for this look (Selena Gomez and Rihanna are two stars who have been seen more than once in their favorite navy blue Converse shoes), though the sky’s the limit here, so long as you stick to relatively flat, non-aerobic-style models. Try to match the look of your shoe with functionality. If you tend to need more ankle support, opt for high-cut styles. Low cut, flat sneakers are ideal if you will mainly be walking and impact support isn’t a priority.

Knee-Highs and Sneakers
This summer, New York street style is dominated by short denim shorts, paired with knee-high socks and flat, low-cut sneakers. Socks in primary colors look great, as do sneakers in a variety of colors. To keep it subdued, opt for white, grey, or neutral tones. For a

Leggings All Day
Gigi and Bella Hadid are frequently seen in leggings, paired with Converse shoes, sneakers or boots. They keep their look low key with a T-shirt though
Make it Funky And Warm
If you’re already shopping for Autumn/Winter 2018/2019, invest in at least one oversized puffer jacket, and an oversized hooded sweatshirt. Pull the hood over a baseball cap and top with your jacket, and you will look über cool in

We have mentioned just a few ways you can use your fashionable workout clothes to add a funky touch to your street style. Ultimately, there
