New Mineral Powders from Physicians Formula promises to instantly deliver a natural and youthful-looking glow. We test out 2 of their new products to see if this is true.
Mineral makeup has become a bit of beauty trend, but it’s hard to know which brand to buy. Most women are buying mineral powder makeup in hopes of getting the same great coverage their come to love with traditional powdered makeups, but without the harmful ingredients.
“Many dermatologists report that because mineral makeup frequently eliminates classic “irritants” โ like fragrances, binders, synthetic dyes, and preservatives — it is considered “purer” and can be kinder to the skin,” says Colette Bouchez on WebMD.com
The new Physicians Formula mineral powder makeup is comprised of a 100% mineral formula. It is free of Talc, Oil, Waxes, Dyes, Binders and Parabens. It is also hypoallergenic, fragrance free, non-comedogenic and it’s dermatologist approved. But does it work?
We tried out 2 mineral powders to find out how well they work.

Introducing the 1st ever 100% mineral brightening bronzer in the mass market. The exclusive blend of precious, light-reflecting minerals including crushed Ruby, Sapphire, Tourmaline and Citrine, provide a one-of-a-kind pure and natural glow for a soft focus effect that helps to smooth the appearance of fine lines. It is available in 4 shades: Light Bronzer, Bronzer, Peachy Glow and Healthy Glow.
I got mine in “Light Bronzer” and I think it’s the perfect shade for me. I might go darker during the summer when i have a tan, but for right now, it’s a great shade that blends in really nice with my complexion and gives it a healthy, warm glow. I found it to deliver very sheer coverage, so I recommend using a bit of concealer on any imperfections you may have. Best of all, I didn’t have an acne breakout after accidentally sleeping with it on…
This is my mom’s favorite powder. She already went through an entire compact of it and just bought another one! I’ve never seen her so crazy in love with a powder compact before. She carries it around with her in her purse too…
Price: $13.95 Available at fine drug and mass-market stores nationwide, although I haven’t found it on sale online yet.

Introducing the 1st ever brightening pressed powder made with 100% pure minerals to even our skin tone and blur imperfections for radiant, glowing skin. Each blend of soft color features a background shade to even out skin tone and contrasting shimmery accent colors help achieve a youthful radiance. It comes in 4 shades: Translucent Glow, Fair Glow, Light Glow and Medium Glow.
I got mine in “Light Glow” and it is very light. I think it’s great for the Winter and Spring months, but I would definitely go darker for Summer. It goes on easily over your moisturizer or foundation without caking. This one is great for when I don’t want to bother with liquid foundation or don’t feel I need it that day. My only complaint with this would be the application brush that comes included in the compact. It sucks. It’s rough and the bristles fall out with every sweep. Really, really not good… So I just use my Eco Tools Powder Brush that is super soft and blends powder a lot nicer.
