The app is geared towards kids ages 3-5 years old and it unlike any app I’ve ever seen before. This is the first app I’ve ever seen that offers an interactive live host that actually talks to your child and praises their actions in the game! They even call your child by name. Isn’t that just amazing?

In Captain McFinn’s Swim & Play, your preschooler can explore an interactive, underwater world, play fun games, and engage in exciting learning activities. As children swim in the underwater world as a fish avatar, they will be guided by a Deep Sea Explorer. This explorer is a real, live person who will share fun stories and encourage your child as he or she participates in learning activities. The Deep Sea Explorer only sees how a child’s fish avatar is exploring the underwater world and creates a fun experience based on the activities your child completes.
Your child will learn valuable life lessons like sharing and politeness, playing as a group/team, the importance of asking for help, how to show gratitude and being respectful of others. These are all super important things for kids to be learning and I think it’s great that they have worked this into a fun app that kids will want to play!
The Captain McFinn Swim & Play app is free to download, then you can choose which subscription works best for you and your family. The freemium subscription model offers 10 minutes of free play at the start of the game, with subscription options of 1 month, 3 months and 6 months packages. The pricing is $4.59, $3.59 and $2.59 per month.
*The app complies with all COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) safety standards, so although parents/children can see the host, the host cannot see them. Through proprietary technology, the host reacts to prompts, responses and creations by the child and texts from the parent (through a secure chat box) to make the interactive experience truly customized.
