Another Fashion Conundrum
I love these shoes:

They are part clog, part pump, part bootie. I love the shearling trim and the color of the suede. They look like they would be really warm and comfortable, and I imagine styling them with skinny jeans as well as boot cuts, and I have a long floaty plaid skirt that needs a substantial shoe to ground it. These would be great. Here is my issue: Shearling booties will probably make your feet really hot if you wear them inside all day (I work in an office so my outdoor time is limited ). And wearing them outside in a New England Winter is a dicey proposition as we get crazy amounts of snow and slush, which will ruin the suede. And you can’t really call this more than a 1 1/2 season shoe, because it will only work in late Fall and Winter – maybe early Spring if the weather is gloomy.
So do I or don’t I?

Well, YES! Three outfits (your leggings, flares and skirt) divided into the price of the shoes means they cost you $43 each first time you wear them, less after that! That doesn’t take into account the charge you’ll get each time someone looks at your feet and smiles (secretly wishing they had shearling clogs, as well.) Besides, we aren’t getting any younger, so how much longer will we be able to balance on and walk in those high heels? Go fr it!
Hi Sara, I live outside Boston so I understand your concern. First Spray your clog/booties with rain and stain protector EVERY WEEK and you’ll have no problems. Wear cotton socks to wick away persperation from your feet and into the shearling. Remember, shearling is an insulator and insulators don’t make you warm, they keep the temperature constant. Putting lots of insulation in your house doesn’t make your house warmer in the summer but more comfortable. Buy your clog/booties and know I only wish I had that style in my line!!
