There is a very big difference between having a home that looks like a cover of a glossy magazine and being able to live in it and feel comfortable. In fact, you would probably find that, in many cases, you would feel anything but comfortable. This is because of how you (and your guests) would feel about not being able to disturb, move or wrinkle anything, including cushions.
To remove this uncomfortable feeling, your home should look lived in and your style effortless and relaxed. This style os called “hygge”. There are different ways that you can achieve this; whether you choose to use one or two points or enlist all three is totally up to you.

Woven, furry, knitted, ribbed, plain, or patterned all work well together if you are careful with your choice of color palette. This will feed your senses, not just your eyes but also your touch, especially if you make sure your textures are made from different materials.
Make sure to mix and match these scatter cushions rather than have them placed formally and quite literally throw your throws (or even drape them) over your couches or chairs relaxedly. Use coffee tables to display the odd choice magazine and keep coasters stacked nearby rather than placed around the tabletop.

Place luxurious items where they will count, such as your best and most sumptuous throw near your coziest seat and a quality rug where toes can sink into it. To make a statement in your rooms, choose rugs that will enhance the décor and add a bit of personality, such as Oriental Rugs in either your living room or your bedroom, for that unique hygge look.
#3 Do not remove too many of your personal items
Many people make the mistake of removing all personal items from their homes in an effort to make them look more ‘designer’ than they lived in. However, by doing this, you are making your home less homely and more uncomfortable for those choosing to visit you.
Of course, you are not going to want your home to look overly cluttered, either. So to gain the right balance, you should choose the most prized possessions that you want to display and slowly increase the number of items, don’t be scared to try out displays; after all, you can always remove items that are not right for the area or make it look too busy.
