The internet is great for this as it connects you with people around the globe who have homeschooled their children, and they are able to give you advice on the best and worst things to do. You have got to try and remember though that at the end of the day, it’s all about what works for you and your kids above anything else.

Knowing that there are others out there that have chosen this way of schooling their kids can be helpful though. Finding others to talk to and share tips will make life so much easier for you, and that’s the goal here. 

Use Online Resources

There are a lot of online homeschool resources available that have been posted by teachers and academics that you can use if you don’t want to create your own. Of course, this is entirely your choice. You can look at the recommended summer bridge activities if you need some more ideas for fun learning, and you can look at teachers’ exercise sheets to keep on top of the curriculum side of things. These are available to the public and are entirely okay to use, just make sure that you are checking that they are accurate before you use them with your children. 

Not Just The Academics

The best thing about teaching your kids at home is that you can provide them with a broader education. You can teach them the basics, but you can also teach them how to cook, how to clean things properly, how to budget and other things that are not necessarily taught in schools. Essentially, you can teach them the brains and the reality of how to take care of themselves when they are all grown up and no longer living with you.
