Tradition and society tell us that when it comes to dating, the man has to do everything, right? Yes. He has to come up with the date night idea, ask the woman out, pay for the date, and take her back home. There’s nothing wrong with that by any means… women should be treated like that because of the beautiful creatures they are but as a woman, don’t you feel for your man every now and then? Especially after you get married?
If you will, sit back and think of the things that your husband does that you feel bad for him about. Maybe there’s been a few occasions where you needed to go shopping and wanted him to go with you even though you know he hates the mall but he went with you anyway. Then there was probably a time where you agreed to hang out with another couple that he doesn’t like but he went and hung out anyway because he loves you… When you think back to moments like that, it makes you feel a little bit of empathy for him, right?
Those instances don’t take away from all the things that wives do for their husbands by any means… because wives do way more for their husbands than they do for their wives… (but nobody’s keeping count)! BUT when you think of those few little moments when he does things that he doesn’t want to do out of love for you, it pulls at your heartstrings a little. It the pull of those heartstrings that make you want to do more for him… it’s the pull of those heartstrings that make you want to do the things he wants to do every once in a while.
Husband Interests Matter Too
As a wife and mother, you do a lot of things that you let your husband slide on doing, mainly because you know that he’s not going to do it right anyway so you might as well do it yourself. But you do have to give him credit when the credit is due. Your husband is more willing to do things you want to do (even when he really doesn’t want to do it) than you’re willing to do things he wants to do, right? That may not be the case for some couples but if your marriage does fall into this category, then it’s time to make some changes and adjustments.
These changes and adjustments aren’t things that you have to do every day but when you do them, it will show him you still care. Imagine the look on his face when you tell him that you’re taking him on a date! Take a look at these different date night ideas to show your husband that you love him and that you want to treat him to things he enjoys doing even if you don’t enjoy doing them.
Take Him On an Outdoorsy Date
If your husband is an “outdoorsy” kind of guy, then taking him on an outdoorsy date will make him fall in love with you all over again. There are so many things you can do for an outdoorsy date, you just have to keep in mind that your idea of outdoorsy is probably totally different than his idea of outdoorsy.

The perfect outdoorsy date for you would probably be something like taking a walk in the park or going on a picnic in the park… that is NOT what your outdoorsy husband would want to do. You need to take him on an outdoorsy date that he will actually enjoy. For instance, take him fishing. This would be the perfect date for him, especially if he loves to fish!
You make all the necessary arrangements to rent a boat, get fishing poles, and the right fishing tackle kit and your husband will be in fishing heaven. He will clearly know that fishing repulses you but the fact that you’re willing to do this with him will really show him that you love him and want to make him happy.
Take Him to a Pro Game
If you think your husband is going to love you from taking him fishing, wait until you take him to a sporting event! If your husband loves sports, whether it’s football or basketball, if you got him tickets to go to a professional game, especially of his favorite team, he would be willing to go on however many shopping trips you need him to go on.
For men, sports is not just a game… it’s a way of life. The Good Men Project states that the reason why men love sports so much is because of the rawness of the battle and the surging feeling of victory. If you get him tickets to see his favorite professional team play, you will have rocked his world.
Men really aren’t too hard to please and even if you do the smallest gesture to show your spouse that you still love and care about him, he will cherish you forever.
