I was given the opportunity to try Amika’s Swarovski Ceramic Styler, and was excited to review this styling tool for you guys. Keep reading after the break for my 100% honest opinions.
First Impressions
Right out of the box, I was in love with the look of this styler. I received the limited edition teal color, and it is beautiful! The swarovski crystals accenting the styler, combined with the gorgeous floral design, means you won’t want to hide this baby away in a cupboard when not in use – it’s a great decor piece!
The styler also came with two clips to help hold hair back while creating various looks, which I thought was a nice added bonus. Plus, I liked the fact that you could adjust the temperature from 180 to 450 degrees, and it heats up within seconds.
Ease of Use
While I loved the look of this styling tool, how it performs was the most important part. After reading the directions carefully, I discovered you can use this tool to create straight, wavy or curly locks – basically, it’s three tools in one. Nice! Now I am ashamed to admit that I am a complete newbie when it comes to using hair styling tools of any kind; I can’t even use a curling iron without getting that annoying “crimping” effect on the ends. However, the Amika Ceramic Styler was a cinch to use! Trust me – even those of you who never touch a curling iron or straightener will be able to use this styler like a pro.
It did take a few practice runs before I was able to feel fully confident in my ability to use this tool, but I have to say I was impressed from the get-go about how easy it was to use. Plus, I like the fact that it made my hair look and feel healthier than before. That’s what’s different about this iron; they use ceramic plates and far-infrared heat to help lock moisture into the hair shaft, which also prevents a lot of the damage most conventional flatirons and curling irons cause.
Overall
While the Amika Ceramic Styler may be pricey, I would definitely recommend this styling tool – especially for women who haven’t had any luck finding (or using!) a flatiron or curling iron. Because you can create a variety of different looks with this one tool, I believe the price is worth it – it’s an investment piece, to be sure, but one I think a lot of you would be happy to make. After using this styler for a few weeks, I am pleased to report that my hair has sustained no damage and still looks shiny, smooth and feels healthier than ever before! I’m definitely giving this tool 5 stars.
The Amika Swarovski Ceramic Styler can be purchased for $160 at Sephora.com.
