A link to my pic is twitpic.com/4rob2t i think this is right and even though i have a twitter account, i am ashamed to admit that i dont know how to tweet. I am 54 years old and had a near fatal brain anurysim. it was so severe i was taken to an out of state hospital by ambulance. after spend 6 weeks in the hospital i got to come back home. shortly after getting home, i wasbitten by a brown recluse spider and had to have a large area surgically removed from my thigh. my 36 year old daughter, an only child, who lived over 8 hours away, quit her state job and moved in to take care of me. Tragically, she passed away in my arms from an unknown blood clot just four days after moving in. All of this happened in a 7 month period. the pain and depression are horrible to try to get through. i am restricted to bedrest now for a heart condition. i made the quilt in the picture when i was pregnant with her, so it has a lot of sentimental value. she was not only my daughter but my best friend. if you could forward this to Ms. Nash i would appreciate it.
My dearest heirloom is a ruby ring with leaf motif, which my mom inherited from her own mother and then passed on to me. It consistently reminds me of my mom’s sweet, all-forgiving, nourishing love, of her personal sacrifice so that I can be a dignified individual, as well as of her tireless effort to instill in me feelings such as compassion and tolerance toward my fellow human beings. Thank you for hosting this giveaway. The following is a link to my tweet:

Here is my Twitpic link! I really cherish my grandma’s old jewelry. She had a house fire and luckily these pieces were saved so I can have a tangible reminder of her love.

I Tweeted (at least I hope it worked, never did it before) a scan of my most prized posession. It is a tintype photo from about 1875…of my great grandfather Henry Judson Thayer and his mother my gr-great grandmother Ellen (Nellie) Draper, born abt 1850. This item means the world to me as it is irreplaceable and so precious. I am very fortunate just to have something that has stood the test of time and has been handed down to me. And I’m thankful I can pass it down to my children. They have been brought up learning about genealogy and their ancestors, and we all have a great respect for those who have come before us…and hope we also leave behind lasting memories as well.
