  1. I go GREEN by not using plastic bags at the super market. I bring my own ECO tote.

  2. I take lots of small steps, like collecting all the empty bottles of water from work and recycling those. I give my cans to my Grandpa so he can turn them in. :)
I’ve started buying green cleaning agents and makeup, and one day my budget will allow organic-made clothes.

  3. We are recycle crazy, we use reuseable shopping bags, we are very careful with our water consumption, we walk when we can (instead of driving), if we do need to drive, we do everything in one trip and we only wash full loads of clothes and always in cold water.

    Thanks

  4. OOps and forgot to comment about doing good for the planet. I always walk when I can. I recycle and I also unplug all unused electronics. Saves money and does good for the planet.

  5. We have a garden, use reusable shopping totes. no plastic water botttles, no A/C, walk to the library and park, and recycle. woo hoo!

  6. I’m trying to be mindful of unplugging my appliances (especially my laptop) when not in use. Power strips really help this!

  7. I reuse ziplock bags by washing them and hanging them on the line to dry and I open all the windows in my house on days with temperatures between 78 and 65 degrees. No need to waste energy with AC and heat.
We drink water out of the faucet and recycle all cardboard, cans and jars.

  8. I have been using green bags. They are so much better than getting a bunch of plastic ones. And they hold more too and I don’t have to worry about them breaking. So great that they help the environment.

  9. I try to turn off all the appliances and lights that I’m not using, not really easy to remember, but I’m trying. Recycling properly is another small step I make too.

  10. I recycle anything + everything I possibly can. This year I had raised beds built for a veggie garden! I have signed up to stop receiving unwanted mail + switched to paperless billing, to cut back on paper. I use reusable grocery bags + cloth napkins! Yay!

  11. I bring my own eco friendly bags when i grocery shop and recycle everything that can be recycled.

  12. I have stopped using plastic bags when I do grocery shopping. I also try to limit drinking bottled water.

  13. I’ve stopped buying bottled water–I use brita filters, and I purchase as much of my food as I can from the farmers market, and of course I recycle.

  14. I am gardening organically rather than using chemicals. It’s better for us and for the planet.

  15. tossing out less and repurposing all we can. Finding a place for everything as long as it is useable there is a purpose.

  16. We combine many errands into one car trip, taking our reusable bags into the stores with us.

  17. recycle everything the city will pick up. Did you know cereal boxes can be recycled? I didn’t for the longest time, then I went to a green fair and found out about a whole lot more that could be put in the pick-up bin.

  18. We have changed to energy efficient light bulbs. I keep telling myself to start bringing my totes for shopping; I just have not made it yet. Thank you

  19. I recycle(even the envelopes at work), I use cfl lightbulbs, I compost, I try to cut water/electricity use where I can. I have a clothesline (and use it), we turn off the central air when possible and open the windows. I have a garden. I try to do my part.

  20. We switched to energy saving light bulbs, bought a high efficiency washing machine, and use reusable grocery bags. Its a start.

  21. To go green, we have eliminated paper towels and napkins, and disposable wraps/covers/lunchbox containers. We use CFLs and have everything on power strips, which we shut off when not in use. We recycle, Freecycle, and compost.

  22. I am buying more and more of my groceries at Whole Foods, though it is significantly pricier. And I bike to work every day!

We try to use as little packaging as possible. Use our own bags. Pack lunches in reusable containers. Little things that add up.

  26. We try to remember to take our used batteries to be recycled when we go to places that we know collect them.

  27. we do the 3 R’s of course, but now we are replacing lightbulbs, appliances for more friendly items.

  28. I take reusable bags to the grocery store. I use my coffee grinds to fertilize my plants.

  29. Because I am handicapped I get my groceries delivered and choose the no plastic bags option. My groceries come in boxes which the delivery boy and I empty and then the boxes go back with him for reuse. Also I recycle everything our local authority allows to recycle and I have a composting bin out back. I can no longer garden but my son gardens for me and I share leftovers with neighbors. There are so many things one can do even if one is handicapped so there is no excuse not to.

  30. I use my own tote bags when ever I go shopping. I love to shop and save the planet one bag at a time.

  31. One change we made this summer was to start a compost pile. By composting, we’re reducing what we send to the landfill and we’re eliminating the need for chemical fertilizers in our garden.

  32. We recycle everything we can, we use reusable instead of disposable products when possible (napkins, plates, towels, etc) and members of our family usually participate in at least 1 or 2 community events per year such as tree planting, river bank cleaning, etc.

  33. I recycle sandwich bags from mine and my husband’s lunch everyday. I have also stopped buying bottled water.

  34. I am going green by no longer purchasing anything plastic. I purchase all of my glassware at thrift stores and antique stores instead of new as well. When I have to buy a product in plastic I try to find a recycled plastic alternative and even then I reuse the jar/bottle a few times before recycling it.

  35. We are using more CFL bulbs, we recycle, and we re-use. My husband turns a lot of “junk” into beautiful new treasures.

  36. I recycle as much as I can and give away things I no longer need to others in need. I also plan my trips in the car to get as much done as possible in one outing and plan out my routes to use as little gas as possible.
Thank you for the nice giveaway. This shawl is beautiful!

  37. I reuse my zip-loc type bags several times (of course washing them well). We have very good drinking water, so we always use tap – never buy bottled. Make my own lemonade in a reusable pitcher. Have bought lots of reusable shopping bags. Love the shawl. Someday, I am going to go on a cruise and would love a shawl for the chilly dining room.

  38. I switched to Aveda beauty, bath, hair and fragrance products. I use canvas shopping bags and recycle everything. I also receive milk from a dairy and reuse their galss bottles.

  39. How much do I want to win, let me count the ways…

I Plant trees, propagate plants and beautify my and my friends homes with my plants; I always have.

thank you for the chance to win

  40. I tweeted and I shared on facebook and I would love to have Doie Venice Jumper in Black

  41. I recycle and pack groceries in reusable totes. I also try to make one trip, combining errands when I need to go out,

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  42. In addition to recycling, I try to reuse grocery bags whenever possible. We also shop at SaveALot and reuse boxes if we have a big order. Thank you for the contest!

  43. I no longer use paper plates, towels, or napkins. I also use “green” cleaning supplies, and I use filtered water instead of bottled.

  44. I like the Autonomie Project Ethletic Flip Flop. These are so cute and look comfy too.

  45. I’ve been using stainless steel reusable bottles & a Brita pitcher instead of buying bottled water.

  46. I make sure to recycle all our aluminum cans and plastic water bottles. Thanks for the contest!

  47. I am planting trees and going to native landscaping on my property, choosing species that won’t need fertilizers or insecticides to survive and prosper

  48. At our house we compost our kitchen waste. As vegetarians, in season we enjoy vegetables and fruits from our own back yard. When we have to shop we take our own cloth bags to the market instead of using “paper or plastic” from the store.

    Thank you for the contest.

  49. I recycle glass, paper and plastic. I compost vegetable and yard waste. I have replaced my most frequently used lightbulbs with compact fluorescents. When I see a red light ahead, I put my car in neutral and coast to save gas.

  50. We recycle as much as possible! We don’t use plastic bags, and our glass bottles and cans are all collected for recycling.

  51. One of my small changes is that I am trying to reuse everything possible to cut down on the trash our family makes.

  52. We recycle everything that we can, we plant a garden every year and try to keep the air high and the heat low!
