1. I feel that I deserve to win this flatiron because I have worked hard at being a Mom but also a Diva! I married a widowed gentleman with 3 small children 12 years ago when I was the Mother of 1 daughter of my own (the oldest of this group at age 8!). The youngest of these children was less than a year old and his oldest 6… she graduates this May. It was tough to do and still try to keep up “appearances” (hair, makeup, stylish clothes) while being on a budget but I feel that I managed to do so even though it has been really tough. I believe that if you take the time to look good and fix yourself up even when you will just be at home or going to the grocery store, it says a lot to everyone around you about how you feel about yourself. It also lets them know that you care enough to take the time to put on makeup, fix your hair, and pick out something at least a little stylish. It teaches your children that you shouldn’t be slovenly about selfcare. I started a group that I call the “Diva Girls” just to encourage my other friends who were Moms to remember that they were feminine and beautiful no matter what age they were. I even registered with the Red Hatters (we were Pink Hats) and of course I am the Queen. :-)My day is hectic though with such a large family and I try to keep prep time as short as I can. Therefore, I would really like to win this flatiron and make my beauty ritual preptime getting ready a lot shorter (I am sure that this nice flatiron is much hotter than my dimestore flatiron) and this will give me more time to be a more fashionable “Diva” Mom and Housewife.
