We are all familiar with pimples, acne, and blackheads. We’ve probably heard a thing or two about skin blemishes, but what exactly is a blemish? When does this occur and why?
In simplest terms, a skin blemish is a type of skin condition where dark spots and patches due to pimples or acne. Blemishes appear when there is discoloration on the skin of your face and are more common when your face has acne. They are an extremely common condition that a lot of people experience but rarely have less knowledge about.

Skin blemishes are probably the easiest of all skin conditions to identify. So long as you know what to look for, you will be able to recognize and treat them easily. If you find red patches or spots on the skin that aren’t obviously whiteheads or pimples, but rather they are more of the discolored spots in the face, that is considered a skin blemish. It’s important to know the difference between skin blemishes and acne because they should be treated differently. Acne requires products that will treat and dry out oily skin like Proactiv while blemishes might need an intensive moisturizer instead.

Moreover, avoid using too much cosmetics as these products are also one of the major reasons for the appearance of blemishes on the face. If you want to avoid having skin blemishes, apply makeup moderately.
4. Most skin blemishes are not permanent!
If you are currently experiencing a lot of skin blemishes, fret not; it can always be cured. There are face creams that can be applied on your face that will ultimately remove and prevent blemishes on your face. If you have a blemish that isn’t going away, see a dermatologist to make sure it’s nothing serious.
5. Don’t over-wash your face!
Hygiene is important and we must always cleanse our face every day to remove all the dirt, oil, and gunk but avoid overdoing it because skin care products can also cause irritation on the skin when you are not careful. You do not want any unwanted skin condition just because you have overdone the cleansing part. When this happens, it can also ultimately lead you to have skin blemishes.
