Itโs springtime, and time to haul out the garbage youโve collected over the past year. But,what about the negative energies that have accumulated? Most people donโt think about it, but negative energies can mess up your feng shui and make your life miserable. Even if it only gives you an occasional bad hair day, itโs worth the effort to clean out those energies. Hereโs how.
1. Open The Windows
Opening the windows allows fresh air in, and it can also let bad energies that are trapped in the house, out. This is perhaps the easiest way to cleanse your home. Leave the windows open all day if you can. if not, then open them for at least one hour or two. You can enhance the effect by clapping your hands, playing positive sounds, or ringing a bell periodically.

2. Plant Some Plants
You may have a psychic cleanse your life for you, (haha) but another more realistic option to try first is to remove negative energy with plants. Specifically, spider plants, or any other plant thatโs proven to cleanse the air, like Peace Lilies, Bamboo Palm, and Golden Pothos or Devilโs Ivy.
These plants remove negative energy and allow positive energy to be released. Place them in the corners of your home, near the entrance, or exit.
You may also use crystals like Amethyst, clear quartz, back obsidian, citrine, and carnelian to transmute and repel negative energy.ย Salt is another earth material that can clear energetic debris – use rock salt, sea salt, or regular old table salt.
Put some of it in a small dish and place in an inconspicuous corner of every room. You may leave it there indefinitely. You can also sprinkle some of it on the floor. Let it sit there for a few hours and then vacuum it up.
3. Light a Candle
Lighting a candle purifies your house through fire. Before you light the candle, say a prayer or give an invocation to clear the negativity from the room and the entire house. To clear a house, walk from room to room with your candle lit, meditating, or saying a prayer.
4. Use Holy Water
The use of holy water is an ancient practice for clearing evil and negative energies from a home. Water is a universal solvent and will dissolve chemical compounds. If youโre looking for spiritual effectiveness, use holy water.
5. Smudge The Home
Smudging is an ancient practice for clearing a home. Youโll need a smudge stick, a candle, and matches, and a fireproof container with sand in it. Place the candle, the fireproof container, and the smudge stick on a table, desk or an alter.
Do this ritual when you know you will not be disturbed. Light the candle and say a prayer. Lighting the tip of the stick, wave it around until it begins to smolder.
Move clockwise around the house, starting at the front door, and gently wave the smoke into the air. Spend a lot of time smudging the room corners as they tend to accumulate stagnant and negative energy.
After youโve moved throughout the whole house (it should take you about an hour), itโs time to extinguish the stick by dipping it into the sand in your fireproof container. Congratulations – your house is clear.
