It may still be January, but if the winter season is getting you down, you can always cheer yourself up by looking at the fantastic spring fashions that are starting to hit the market, and dreaming of the sunny days to come! 2018’s spring fashions look set to be colorful, pretty and fun to wear, and Pantone’s predictions for the season in terms of the colors we’ll be seeing on both the high street and in designer clothing collections show some gorgeous shades that will make saying goodbye to the winter blues easy!
Here are five of the colors in Pantone’s spring 2018 palette:
Ultra Violet
Ultra Violet, a bright, vibrant shade of purple, is not just a feature of the top 12 color palette for the spring 2018 season, but also Pantone’s 2018 Colour of the Year. Each year they pick a color that defines the trends for the coming 12 months, and which will be expected to be seen in everything from luxury dresses and interior design to stationery and even website design! This color also works well with the other tones in the palette to create beautiful prints, ideal for pretty spring dresses like those made by ethical fashion company Beulah London. We’re all more aware of ethical issues in the fashion industry and it’s important to support companies that support others and the environment.
Coconut Milk
As well as their top 12 color palette, Pantone also suggests four neutrals to pair with these colors for spring 2018, one of which is a beautiful off-white called Coconut Milk. A flattering shade for those who love the idea of the little white dress for spring but don’t like stark, bright whites. It is also a fantastic shade for crisp linens and work shirts.
Lime Punch
One of the brightest colours in spring 2018 top 12, Lime Punch is an energetic and fun lime green which can look amazing as a block colour, or when combined with others from the collection like Meadowlark, Rapture Rose and Ultra Violet to create pretty tropical inspired prints, perfect for this season’s bolder designer dresses.
Spiced Apple
For those who like richer colors, even for spring, the deep burgundy red of Spiced Apple gives an earthy and warming tone without feeling too autumnal. This is a lovely color to see in luxury fabrics, and could even be a good choice for fans of colored leather.
Cherry Tomato
If you prefer your designer fashion to be quirky, daring and eye-catching, then this bright, almost primary colored red may be your favorite from the 2018 spring palette by Pantone. Poppy and fun, without being too childish, this red can be worn in so many ways, from sexy and seductive party dresses through to splashes of accent color against a more neutral background, when worn as accessories like scarves, hats, and bags. If you want to incorporate just a tiny touch of this color into a more neutral outfit, it can also be a great shade for nails or lips (though probably not both at once!).
These are just five of the 12 colors (plus four neutrals) seen in Pantone’s spring style report.
