If your kids were in charge, every meal would end or begin with chocolate ice cream. Kids love to eat but not things healthy, so letโs give them the best of both worlds. Here is a list of kid-friendly snacks and desserts that are both healthy and delicious.
Healthy Snacks
- Yogurt
Yogurt is an excellent snack as well as a dessert for kids. It is packed with nutrients such a protein and calcium which is important for your child to get their nourishments. Yogurt also delivers probiotics which are good bacteria that benefit the digestive system. Choosing a healthy yogurt is one that has zero added sugar and loaded with proteins. You can substitute sugar with fresh fruits or a drizzle of honey.

Beans are packed with fiber and protein which an excellent option when cooking in a hurry. Ants on a log is an extremely fun way to get your child to eat a vegetable. Cut a stalk of celery into four to five pieces, spread peanut butter inside the celery, and arrange a few raisins on top of the peanut butter so they look like ants. These three foods combined provide a good balance of protein, carbs, and fat.

A fruit smoothie is a great way to sneak in some necessary nutrients for your child. Avoiding packed fruit juice is necessary as it is high in sugar. You can add veggies too. With the sweetness of the fruit, your kid may not even realize theyโre in there.

Avocado is high in monounsaturated fats and keeps cholesterol levels healthy. There are many ways to eat avocados and you can make it interesting for your kids for wanting more. You can eat them with a spoon, mash on toast, throw them into a smoothie, mix them into chicken or tuna salad, or make a pasta sauce like avocado pesto.

Fruits, in general, may not be as appealing as a dessert. But they wonโt be able to resist frozen chocolate fruits on skewers such as banana, strawberry, or pineapple. These bites can be a healthy dessert or a fun after-school snack for kids that is full of fruity flavor and easy to make.

This mouse is a high nutrient dessert that is creamy and yummy. The pumpkin is excellent in skin-boosting whereas the avocado keeps the heart healthy by maintaining cholesterol. It is a great way for parents to sneak in more nutrition such as fiber, Vitamins, and healthy fat in their diet.

- Healthy Apple Crumble
Super yummy and great dessert that is exxcellent for your child. Made with oats, bran flakes, raisins, walnuts and off course apple. Best served with some low fat yogurt or some low fat ice cream to enhance the taste.
These are just some of the dishes you can try at home. It is easy to make and you can even make it fun by asking your children to help along the way.
