Sending your children off to school is always a bittersweet combination of nerves and excitement. Whether this is your first time experiencing this, or whether you’ve been through it multiple times, you likely know that preparation is key. School looks a little bit different in most parts of the world, due to the pandemic, but there are still a few products that are sure to make the transitioning process that much easier. These are products that aren’t strictly necessary, but that you will find very helpful throughout your child’s school career, especially in the beginning.
A label maker

Most of us know that when it’s time for kids to go to school, everything needs to be marked. And we do mean everything. Stationery, bags, lunch boxes, even clothes – all of these need to have your child’s name on, and often your number. This makes sense since little children often lose things, but it’s still a tedious process to have to write these details out a million times. That’s where label makers come in! You can easily make a variety of different labels with different details, which will save you a lot of time and effort since you won’t need to do each label individually.
Dividable lunch boxes
Instead of putting your child’s lunch into one big lunch box, consider getting a dividable lunch box. This may seem unnecessary, but there are various benefits to them. Of course, it’s a great way to separate food for picky eaters who don’t like different types of food touching each other, but it may also keep the food fresher for longer. For example, if you pack a sandwich with some fruit into one lunchbox, the sandwich may start to get soggy because it’s touching the fruit. This will also remind you of all the elements you need to put in – you can use one division for sweets, one for fruit, one for protein – you get the idea. Hand sanitizer

We’re not suggesting you let your young child run around with a huge bottle of hand sanitizer, but it’s a good idea to keep a small bottle in the car so that you can supervise them disinfecting their hands as they apply it before and after school. This is a measure that must be taken due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but it’s a good habit to get into anyway since schools and playgrounds can contain a lot of germs because of how many children there are in one location. “Business cards”
This may seem like an odd thing to put on a list, but trust us, it comes in handy. Don’t stress, we’re not talking about actual business cards, either. It’s a good idea to write your child’s name, your name, and your contact number on a few pieces of paper, and then give them either to your child or their teacher. This will make it easier for other parents to get in touch if they want to arrange a playdate.
