Itโs that time of year again. Weโve rounded the corner, waving goodbye to winter and saying hello to spring. Springtime can be a wonderful time with the flowers blooming, songbirds chirping, and so much opportunity for some colorful new decor.
But, spring also comes with its obligations โ like taxes due in April! So, while youโre gearing up for spring fashion season, letโs not forget about gearing up for some of the more pressing matters.
Some circumstances of spring can ruin a day or week for you and your family if your are not prepared. Take a look below to make sure youโre ready for spring! ย
Spring Cleaning Essentials
Itโs easy to get lulled into a trance during the wintertime, like not wanting to organize or clean the house. To make things worse, your yard has been covered in snow since you can remember. When the snow thaws, this out-of-sight, out-of-mind mentality can soon come back to bite you, and remind you that you forgot to rake the leaves in preparation for winter. ย
Now that the sun is shining, you can see all the work you have to do to get your house back up to snuff. Thereโs dusting, washing, and other cleaning to do inside while you have to fix that leak in the roof, clear the gutters, and landscaping to do outside. In fact, landscaping experts Hillcrest Property Management warn, โBetween the snow, ice, wind and cold, lots of repairs are made in the winter that need to be readdressed in the spring.โ Make sure you address your spring cleaning duties early on, so you sit back and enjoy the warm weather later on. Allergy Protection
If you have allergies like me, springtime can be a nightmare if you donโt have the proper allergy care. Allergens from inside and outside the house can cause a wide array of symptoms including red, puffy eyes, excessive itchiness, and skin irritations. Sometimes, even harsh perfumes can onset a runny nose. Itโs important to know the causes and symptoms of allergies so you can seek relief before the misery even starts.
You can deter most allergies with an over-the-counter antihistamine medication, but in more severe circumstances, you should consult a doctor. However, if your allergy symptoms are just an annoyance, you can take precautionary measures to limit the severity of allergies; wearing eye protection to reduce the amount of pollen getting into your eyes, using a less stringent soap such as Camille Rose Soap to minimize skin irritation, and keeping your house as dust free as possible โ therefore reducing allergens such as pollen, dust, and pet dander.
Proper Rain Apparel
Getting caught out in the rain can be fun โ if youโre prepared for it. Otherwise, rain can be problematic for planning your day. Imagine stepping out of a cab and right into a puddle just before a big interview. Next thing you know, you have to give an interview distracted by your soggy socks. Or, imagine getting caught out in the rain during a family outing, and now one of your children has developed a cold.
Proper rain gear isnโt just for fashion; itโs a necessity for you and your family during springtime weather. Make sure everyone is protected with the essentials to keep their inner layers nice and dry. Galoshes, raincoats, umbrellas, and hats are all things you donโt want to be caught without during a spring shower.
If youโre like I am, you look forward to spring just a few weeks into winter. However, your eagerness may have you wanting to jump into spring before you are even ready โ but not being prepared for some of the conditions of spring can be miserable. Take the tips above into consideration if you want to have a worry free season!
