I had the opportunity to test the new Yes to Carrots Leave-In Conditioner recently, and I was very excited to try this 98% natural formula. My hair tends to get very dry during the summer months, and this conditioner promises to rejuvenate, strengthen and soften damaged strands. For my full review, keep reading after the break.
Before trying this conditioner, I had to take a look at the ingredients list. I was actually very impressed with the various benefits of the ingredients included in this conditioner, which are:
- Organic Carrots – Contains Beta-Carotene, which is an essential vitamin for healthy hair
- Argan Oil – Softens and hydrates damaged and over-treated strands
- Keratin Proteins – Natural proteins that help rebuild and restore hair
- Sea Kelp Extract – A source of zinc, magnesium and iodine to help stimulate growth and strengthen existing strands
The directions state to use this leave-in conditioner 2 to 3 times a week, or more if you use a lot of heated styling tools. I rarely use styling tools, so I decided to use this three times in the first week to see how well my hair fared.
After One Week:
While they suggest shampooing with Yes to Carrots Nourishing Shampoo, I used my regular shampoo and then applied this leave-in afterwards. I was really pleased with the smell – it actually smells nothing like carrots, but is a rather pleasant, almost fruity scent. I only used about a dime size dollop because past experiences with leave-in conditioners has told me that more than that can make my hair look and feel greasy.
Upon first use, I didn’t notice a difference, but after the second use I could tell my hair was responding well to this conditioner. Not only did it look and feel softer, it was a heck of a lot easier to manage after my shower. I don’t use a hair dryer frequently but air drying usually leaves me with frizz. With this leave-in conditioner, my hair was noticeably less frizzy and felt smooth and soft to the touch.
After One Month:
After using Yes to Carrots Leave-In Conditioner for one month, three times a week, my hair doesn’t feel nearly as dry and coarse as it usually does during this time of the year. In fact, I’ve been able to cut it down to 1-2 times per week because my hair is in such good condition. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable, powerful leave-in conditioner that won’t leave locks greasy or weighed down.
I have used a lot of leave-in conditioners in my day, and this one is one of my favorites not only for the price, but for the performance. I won’t be switching anytime soon!
