Outfit Ideas: Neon Jeans with Oxfords

I surfed Pinterest to get some ideas of what to wear with oxfords and decided I would just do my own thing… No use in searching for how to wear oxfords when I can just put them on with something cute and see if it works! It’s sunny, in the 50′s outside so it felt like a neon jeans kind of day. Enter a cool motorcycle tee and a chambray button down for my casual weekend look. I think the oxfords work with this outfit, how about you?

I went “all out” and spent 20 minutes doing a smokey eye with Urban Decay Smoked Palette and my new favorite mascara – Boots No7 Exquisite Curl Mascara in Black – $8.

Let me know what you think!

What To Wear With Leggings

Leggings

Leggings may seem difficult to pull off, but with some style know-how you can easily tackle the trend. Keep reading for our recommendations on must-have leggings and what to wear with them.

Skirts

If you normally shy away from skirts, pairing them with leggings is the perfect way to test the waters without showing off your stems. For the most flattering fit, choose a pair of leggings in a neutral shade (we like these from Yummie Tummie) and make sure they are color coordinated with your top. You can choose a skirt of any length, but we find that a skirt that hits slightly above the knee works best with this look.

Tunics

Tunics are the perfect top to pair with leggings – especially if you want your leggings to be the star of your outfit. Choose a tunic that hits at your upper thigh to avoid showing off any unsightly lumps or bulges… unless you’re a model, you want to keep your bottom half covered when you’re sporting this look!

Dresses

Fearful of the dress-over-pants trend? If so, pairing a dress with your leggings is the perfect way to try out the trend on a lesser scale. While a variety of dresses will work, we recommend shirtdresses for a casual vibe.

Flats

We’ve found that leggings work best when you’re sporting a cute pair of flats – it goes with the casual, comfy feel of the trend. If you do wear heels, opt for an ankle boot with a stiletto heel – they’ll give your outfit some edge.

I lost 18 Pounds in 8 Weeks on The Dukan Diet!

I started The Dukan Diet on June 19th. Just 8 weeks later, I’ve lost 18 pounds!

I did a photo shoot on June 18th, wearing a pair of size 28 Yummie Tummie Slimming Jeans. They were a little bit snug and looking back now I think I must have been poured into them… I put them on today and was so amazed at how BIG they are on me now! I decided they would be perfect to show you some before and after pictures!!

Here is a side by side comparison of June 18th at 128 pounds and today, August 11th at 110 pounds.

Yummie Tummie Nursing Tanks for The Postpartum Belly

You all know I’m a huge fan of Yummie Tummie tanks. I own at least 5 of them and wore them all the time before I got pregnant.

I was delighted to find out that Yummie Tummie makes a NURSING TANK!

The Yummie Tummie Nursing Tank Top is the ultimate tummy control nursing tank with secret shapewear built in. It’s designed to be worn on its own, or as a layering piece so you can get into your pre-pregnancy clothes faster. And who doesn’t want to do that?

The top offers moderate control and a nursing tank top all in one. Soft cotton fabric, spandex tummy panel. Specifically designed for nursing mothers with built in soft cup bra for comfortable support and convenient one-handed nursing clips.

The slick fabric of the midsection will not cling to clothes and the elongated design will not roll up. Extra long length, comes down over rear to provide some additional slimming. Yummie Tummie’s Nursing Tank instantly slims your entire postpartum silhouette from below the bust to the hips. Smooth away inches, or as Oprah says, “No More Muffin Tops!”

Check it out…

Yummie Tummie is absolutely the bomb and they were nice enough to send me one of their nursing tanks for me to try out as soon as I give birth in August. I am SO excited and I can’t wait to try it out! The nursing cups and clips look great so I really think I’m going to love it.

If you aren’t pregnant or nursing, check out Yummie Tummie’s regular tanks.

Have YOU tried Yummie Tummie tanks yet? What do you think?

Fashion Advice: Style for the Super Bowl

Whether you love or hate the NFL, odds are you’ll be watching the big game on February 7th (here’s a little football trivia: this is the latest Super Bowl ever played.) and the best way to do that?

By looking good, of course! But, in a sea of guacamole, dips and pizza, you need to find a great outfit to wear that still keeps you comfortable. Here are a couple of recommendations for you to try out for this year’s game:

1. Jeans: I’m a big proponent of denim every day (I know that many of you can’t wear jeans to work, but I got very lucky finding a job that allows that. I love working for internet companies!), but it’s particularly important when you’re lounging around. But don’t grab your tightest skinnies! You’ll be snacking all day, so jeans that fit comfortably (you don’t want to go too loose, especially if you want to keep that snack attack in check) are your best bet. A great, comfy splurge brand: Current/Elliott. Cheaper option: Anoname.

2. Fitted T-Shirts: It’s so easy to just lean back on a sweatshirt and go for a comfortable-sloppy look, but you’ll feel more confident by wearing a figure-flattering t-shirt. Many great brands like Michael Stars, Ella Moss, Splendid and others offer you a cute, yet cozy option that will help you say no to the sweatshirt.

3. Cute Flats: I can honestly say that I never wear sneakers (I haven’t worked out in about five years, but that’s another post!), so finding a stylish, every day flat is important for me… but not as important as it should be for you on game day. You’re not going to want heels (all that jumping up and down when your team scores makes for a lot of foot pain in stilettos) and there’s nothing flattering about a pair of sneakers. Two of my favorite sites for snagging fabulous flats? Aldo.com and NineWest.com. Both are extremely well-priced and very on-trend – two must-haves for game day!

4. Spanx: I can’t say this enough: It’s worth it to keep everything sucked in… especially with all the munching you’ll be doing! Underneath a great pair of jeans and a stylish tee, Spanx, Yummie Tummie or any other slimming undergarments are your best friend. Have a favorite brand? Tell us about it!

5. Accessories: You’re going to be jumping up and down… chandelier earrings, while gorgeous, are NOT going to do you any good. My recommendation? Simple earrings and a small necklace. No more (but less would be okay, too) than that is necessary. I know that if the Colts make it, my college roommate will be rocking a Peyton Manning necklace. Me? I’ll just be wearing some bangles. It’s like having your own cheering section at home.

So, whomever you’re cheering for, make sure you look great (and picture-ready… you never know who will be busting out a camera) with these simple steps!
