How To Wear Ugg Boots This Winter

How to Wear Ugg Boots
from wikiHow

Ugg Boots are a fashionable kind of boot made out of sheepskin worn by both men and women. They are very comfy and warm, and many celebrities have been seen wearing them. If you have just bought some Ugg Boots or just don’t know how to wear them or when to wear them, this is the guide for you!

Steps

  1. Buy them in neutral colors, such as chestnut or brown. That way, you can easily wear them with any outfit, however, you could also buy pink or purple uggs, even though it would be much harder to wear with your outfits.
  2. Wear Uggs with shorts. They usually look the best with jean shorts that are above the knee but you could experiment with different kind of shorts, such as unique patterns, bright colors, or maybe different kind of materials.
  3. Tuck your jeans into your boots. A very cute “wintery” outfit is to wear jeans tucked into uggs with a light or dark colored shirt (like white or red), along with a woolen jacket, scarf, or hat.
  4. Wear it with skirts too! Uggs look great with almost any skirt that is above the knee and in some cases, below the knee, but above the ankle. It really depends on what color ugg boots you have. Obviously, you should not wear a lime green skirt with purple uggs.
  5. Try wearing them with more of a wide-legged jean. roll the jean up a little bit and put it over the boot. It’s very cute.

Tips

  • The benefit of wearing Ugg Boots is that you don’t need to wear socks with them, even in cold weather as they are warm inside.
  • Although you do not have to wear socks with Uggs, wearing them prevents damage to the fur inside the shoe.
  • Avoid wearing thicker socks (ones designed for hiking, skiing, or general winter wear). They may damage the insides of your Uggs.
  • You can buy some cleaning products specifically made for Ugg Boots.
  • Try waterproofing them using spray, this will prevent water damage.
  • Men usually look best wearing Ugg boots with jeans, either tucked in or worn over the top of the boots.
  • Wearing Ugg boots with skinny jeans prevents having to tuck them in every so often.
  • You don’t have to tuck your jeans into your uggs. Boot-cut jeans over uggs look really cute too!
  • Most people think uggs look best with jeans.
  • When wearing Uggs with a skirt in colder seasons try pairing them with knee socks with a pretty design along the top.

Warnings

  • Avoid wearing Uggs in muddy or wet conditions.
  • Never put Ugg boots in the washing machine, as this can damage them.
  • Ugg boots weren’t called “ugg” without a reason. Be circumspect about where you wear them; formal events are a complete no-no.
  • Some guys hate seeing Ugg boots on their girlfriends.
  • Some girls hate seeing Ugg boots on their boyfriends.

What To Wear With Ugg Boots

If you just bought ugg boots or are considering purchasing a pair, but don’t know what to wear with them if you do, then let me help you.

There are no set in stone rules about what to wear with ugg boots. If you’re totally pro-uggs or a celebrity, then you might wear them with just about anything. If you hate uggs and think they are hideous, well then I can’t imagine you’d wear them with too many things.

If you’re somewhere in the middle, like me, and just find them to be practical winter boots for the colder months, then read on!

Fashion Wear:

The easiest way to wear ugg boots is with a pair of jeans tucked in. Skinny jeans work best, obviously, but you can roll up boot cut jeans if you wish. Look to celebs like Sarah Jessica Parker, Vanessa Manilo and Hilary Duff for cues on how to make wearing ugg boots look cool.

You can also wear ugg boots instead of regular tall boots, as long as the rest of your outfit isn’t too dressy. Casual weekend outfits can be made even more comfortable and practical by throwing on a pair of ugg boots.

Here are some outfit ideas…

It is best to purchase ugg boots in neutral colors like brown, chestnut, sand or black. They will be the most versatile and will easily blend in with your outfits. Avoid colors like pink, purple, blue etc as this can look clown-like if you’re over 10 years old. If you want pink ugg boots, buy them for your kids.

I personally prefer and recommend the classic tall boots as I find them to be the most versatile. If you don’t want them tall, you can just roll them down. But the nice part of the tall ones is how nice and warm they keep your feet and your legs!

Winter Wear:

While most ugg boot fans wear them long before it starts snowing, some of you may want to keep them just for shoveling the driveway. If that’s the case, you may want to opt for the utilitarian-style elegance ugg boot with the a rubber sole to provide better traction.

You can get these boots on whooga.com for $133.00.

Review: Whooga Classic Tall Ugg Boots

About a month ago, I got an email from a rep at Whooga boots that wanted to know if I’d be willing to try out a pair of their boots. While the warm winter boots are quite controversial in the fashion world, you really can’t deny that they are practical for winter and a must-have for anyone living in the North East. Upon learning that Whooga boots were made in Australia, I agreed to try out a pair.

I chose the Classic Tall Ugg Boots in chestnut. And even shipping from Australia, they came surprisingly quick!

Being a sucker for cute packaging, I was delighted with the adorable box they came in…

I untied the neatly tied bow and opened the box to find a cozy looking pair of boots…

They have a cute little label on the back, just like Ugg Australia boots, but more whimsical looking…

Something I noticed right away, that completely sets Whooga boots on a level above Ugg Australia is the thickness of the Merino Sheepskin wool. You can read more about Whooga ThermoFleece™ Technology here. Just look at how thick and cozy the inside of these boots are…

Whooga ThermoFleece sheepskin is treated without the Chrome Tanning agents that are used in the majority of tanning factories. This results in Whooga boots being both biodegradable and recyclable which is friendlier for the environment. Chrome Tanning is not only harmful to the environment but often causes irritation to those with sensitive skin and is actually detrimental to the durability and flexibility of the sheepskin.

So not only are these boots warm and cozy, but they are eco-friendly too!

whooga5Now, while you may not love the look of ugg boots, their comfort and practicality is undisputed. As soon as September 1st came around, everyone up here in New England started wearing their ugg boots. And I mean, everyone. It’s only mid October and we already had a first snow fall this morning. Yuck!

So needless to say, warm winter boots are a must. I might not wear them out with an evening dress, but you can bet your booty I’ll opt for these on a cold snowy day on my way to the grocery store.

Now, here’s the important part… You’re probably wondering why you should consider Whooga boots instead of Ugg Australia brand boots if you’re going to take a plunge and get yourself some ugg boots. Well, here’s the thing… Ugg Australia brand boots that are hugely popular in the US now, are actually produced in China while Whooga ugg boots are proudly made in Australia. How ironic that Ugg Australia boots aren’t even made in Australia eh? No instead they make them in China for dirt cheap and then sell them for much more than they are worth. And we buy them because they are a brand we are familiar with. Everyone is wearing a pair, so we figure they have to be good, right?

Whooga ugg boots have proven to be higher quality than Ugg Australi’s popular boots. You really can see and feel the difference. To be completely honest with you, I have a pair of each. I have a pair of Ugg Australia classic tall boots in dark brown and this pair of Whooga classic tall boots in chestnut. I personally prefer the Whooga boots because the lining is thicker and softer. It feels like you’re walking on a thick bed of soft cotton balls.

And personally, I’d much rather have Australian ugg boots that are actually from Australia and made in Australia. Seems more authentic, ya know?

Something I didn’t realize is that the terms ugg boots, ugh boots and ug boots have been used as generic terms for sheepskin boots in Australia since the 1950s and 1960s, when they first appeared in advertising and other publications. [Read more...]
