Monday’s Impulsive Splurge on J.Crew

I never even visit the JCrew website because I pretty much love everything they have and can’t excuse spending that much money on any of it!

But this morning, while perusing one of my favorite fashion blogs, I spotted a silky chambray tunic that I couldn’t live without, regardless of the price.

And then I spotted some lightweight washed chambray pants that I also needed to own…

jcrew splurge

Now of course, I don’t shop anywhere online without going through Ebates.com. Then I make sure I either find a coupon code to accommodate the items in my cart OR I wait until there is a sale or another promotion before I complete the checkout process on the items in my cart.

I kinda lucked out this time with J.Crew because right now they are having a Spring Sale. You can get 30% off all sale items and 50% off final sale items with coupon code FRESHSALE.

So here’s the breakdown…

Chambray Tunic: Originally $98.00 / on sale for $69.99 / $48.99 after coupon code

Chambray Pants: Originally $78.00 / on sale for $68.00 / $47.60 after coupon code

By shopping through Ebates I will get 3% cashback on my order ($2.89) which will help cover the $5 shipping fee I had to pay because my order did not exceed $150.

Because I don’t usually shop at J.Crew, I am unfamiliar with their returns process so I just hope everything fits perfect and meets my expectations!

I probably should have just waited till I went to Marshalls or TJ Maxx again to get some chambray pieces for my wardrobe, but I didn’t want to wait! And I absolutely fell in love with that damn chambray tunic…

Being 36 weeks pregnant, I could use just about ANYTHING to lift my spirits and make myself feel better and knowing I can wear that silky chambray tunic in a few weeks after the baby is born, pretty much made my day. #forthewin

TJ Maxx – everyone’s favorite store – is just loaded with stripes right now! Stripes is a trend that is hot for fall and luckily, TJ’s stays up on what’s hot for the season and packs their store full of everything you need. One stop shopping at it’s best, my friends!

I scored this adorable stripe tank for $14.99, the designer denim jacket was on sale for $8 and the designer peeptoe pumps were on sale for $25. The skinny jeans are neon coral skimmers from Gap.

Stripes? Check! Neon colors? Check! Dark wash denim? Check! Statement necklace? Check! I’ve got all this season’s hottest trends packed into one seamless outfit. I can easily trade out the peep toes for some ankle booties and layer a cardigan over the striped tank and under the jacket for when it’s cooler a few weeks from now.

What do you think of this outfit?

Our T.J. Maxx Summer Self-Expression Style Challenge!

We teamed up with our good friend Betsy from A Few Goody Gumdrops again to participate in another T.J. Maxx Style Challenge! This time we decided to rock this Fall’s hottest trend – METALLICS!

Here’s a tidbit about the challenge…

A Few Goody Gumdrops thoroughly enjoyed participating in the second T.J. Maxx Summer Self-Expression Style Challenge. Naturally, we enlisted the help of Sarah-Jean Ballard, our fashionably stylish friend from The Fashionable Housewife to help pull this off! If you recall, we recently partnered with Sarah-Jean and T.J. Maxx, your favorite off price retailer to take part in The Maxx Style Scout Blogger Challenge earlier this year.

T.J. Maxx provides their shoppers with endless possibilities to express their personal style. Sarah-Jean and I decided to express our personal style with one of this season’s hottest trends….metallics! We specifically decided to work with gold metallic for this challenge. T.J. Maxx carries the hottest on-trend, brand name and designer fashions. Sarah-Jean and I had no trouble selecting some fabulous pieces to fulfill our challenge. Not only did we find some absolutely perfect metallic pieces for Sarah…she updated the look with gold nail polish, shimmering gold eye shadow and gold lipstick. As you can see Sarah-Jean rocked the metallic look like a true fashion model! Sarah’s ultra-trendy metallic look is perfect for day or night.[more...]

TJ Maxx Style Scout Blogger Challenge – Stripes!

TJ Maxx Style Scout

The Fashionable Housewife teamed up with A Few Goody Gumdrops recently to take part in the Maxx Style Scout Blogger Challenge. We were given a $100 gift card to shop at T.J. Maxx (our FAVORITE store!) and were sent on a mission to create a designer outfit for less based on the spring trend of black and white stripes.

Here is a snippet from our experience:

“Sarah received a T.J.Maxx gift card and we shopped til we dropped. We choose to style Sarah in one of this season’s hottest trends….black and white stripes. T.J.Maxx provided us with endless possibilities to find our personal style. We sought a very cool fashion-forward look.

If you ask me….Sarah and I did an amazing job with the designer outfit and accessories we chose. Sarah’s hair, makeup and cutting edge black and white nails were the perfect compliment to her ultra stylish outfit.” [Source]

I am SO honored to have had the opportunity to work with A Few Goody Gumdrops and TJ Maxx. I had an awesome time shopping in TJ’s (as I always do!) and I’m so amazed that we put together this fabulous outfit for $100! I am most excited about the ultra cool denim and leather biker jacket that was on sale. It’s so gorgeous and I will be able to style it in a million other outfits!

I saw so many things in TJ Maxx that were both totally on trend and very affordable. I could have spent many more hours in the store than I did because there was just so much to see! I will definitely be heading back there this coming week to grab a few more things including some home decor items for my living room that I am re decorating.

TJ Maxx has amazing designer items for a lot less than department stores, so you can leave knowing you will look like a million bucks but didn’t have to spend a million bucks! :-)

Today’s Outfit: TJ Maxx Score #6

Our TJ Maxx Giveaway is over now, (Did you win?!) but I’m still putting together mix and match outfits with the pieces I scored at TJ Maxx.

Today, I’m wearing the shirt from Outfit #3 with the brown coated skinny jeans I got at TJ’s ON SALE for just $15, a knit vest I got last year on Ideeli and my favorite brown ankle booties…
