BB Beauty Balm Cream – What’s The Best?

Are you looking for the best BB cream for oily skin? Which BB cream brand is the best? Have you been searching for the best rates BB cream in the US? Well, we tried a bunch of Beauty Balm Creams to see which ones rated the best in our book!

1. Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm

UD BB cream

At the number one spot is Urban Decay! It is hands down the best BB cream tinted moisturizer I have ever tried. Period. It is the perfect shade, blends into skin seamlessly while minimizing the appearance of pores, lines, wrinkles and redness instantly. It even promises significantly firmer, more lifted skin in 8 weeks. Hell, I don’t even care about that part! I just LOVE how my skin looks after I put this on. It’s the main component of my 5-minute 5-product beauty routine. It’s a must-have for ALL skin types! I highly recommend it!!!!

2. Miracle Skin Transformer BB Cream

miracle skin bb cream

Really not in second place at all, this is truly another favorite of mine and I would buy it in bulk if it were just a tiny bit more affordable! This five-in-one formula is designed to hydrate, prime, enhance, mattify, and protect skin in a single step. It goes on smoother than any other BB cream I’ve tried, looks totally natural, protects your skin with SPF 20 and leaves your face looking refreshed, rather than weighed down. I also like this one because it’s available in 8 shades!

3. Stila Stay All Day® 10-In-One Beauty Balm

stila bb cream

I like this one because it has a touch of shimmer to it that illuminates the skin and gives you an amazing “glow” that looks natural – not sparkly. It’s an all-in-one, high-definition, age-defying beauty balm that is packed with broad-spectrum SPF 30 and ready for action. This would be my “date night” BB cream pick because the added touch of shimmer that illuminates skin is my idea of “dressing up” considering my busy-mom lifestyle. I found that this one was also good for oily skin and did not clog my pores. Bonus! I recommend this one for sure.

4. Clinique Age Defense BB Cream

clinique bb cream

If you have mature skin (35+) and you are looking for a double-duty BB cream that will not only make you look great today, but help improve your skin for tomorrow, then you will want to try Clinique’s Age Defense BB Cream. I am a huge fan of almost ALL CLinique products and this one is no exception. Expertly shaded to match so many skin tones and yet, it’s available in three shades, just in case you want to get picky. Goes on smooth, hide fine lines and feels light as a feather. Perfect for the spring and summer months. I definitely recommend it!

5. Perfekt Skin Perfection Gel

perfekt skin bb cream

Last but certainly not least is this multitasking all-in-one vitamin enriched, sweat-resistant and water-resistant skin perfector that is a lot like a BB cream. It glides on skin effortlessly to instantly improve your skin tone all while reducing redness and helping to minimize the appearance of enlarged pores and fine lines. It’s one of my favorites but I have to put it in spot number 5 because of the price alone! It’s $57.50 for just 1 oz!!!! Still, it’s one of my favorites and I recommend it for all skin types.

Holiday Season Beauty Tips & Tricks

We all know how stressful the holiday season can be. Between shopping for gifts, planning holiday parties and preparing meals, there’s often little time left over for relaxation or pampering! Luckily, we have some expert tricks and tips from AVEENO® experts, celebrity hairstylist Patrick Melville and dermatologist Dr. Debra Jaliman to help you survive the holiday season looking and feeling your best. Bonus: We share our OWN expert tips for the perfect, no-fuss holiday makeup look.

Holiday Hair

Who has time to fuss with complicated hairstyles during this busy time of year? Fortunately, Patrick Melville has several how-to tips to create perfectly polished party hair without the fuss. Melville’s tips for success are:

  • Blow-dry hair with Mason Pearson Brush or round brush, when hair is dry, spray hair with the AVEENO® Dry Shampoo at the root to create texture
  • Take a small tail comb and tease very gently at the root throughout the head, flip hair upside down and break up hair with your finger
  • Grab hair at the nape and secure with hair tie, this should create a little texture and softness around your face
  • With the tailcomb, gently tease the ponytail to create more texture, spin ponytail around to create a chignon at nape of neck and secure with a straight pin or bobby pin
  • Break up with fingers on the bottom, use a lightweight hairspray to secure in place, finish with a sparkly headband or clip

Within just a few minutes, you can have party-ready hair without spending precious hours you don’t have.

Skincare Secrets

Famed dermatologist Dr. Debra Jaliman knows what it takes to keep skin glowing throughout the holiday season, and you can take advantage of her skincare secrets to help you put your best face forward this season.

First, she suggests using Aveeno Ultra-Calming Makeup Removing Wipes before bed – an easy way to clean your face post-party after a long night out. To help relieve stress, drop a capful of Aveeno Stress Relief Foaming Bath into a warm tub and soak your cares away with a soothing, pampering blend of lavender and oatmeal. Finally, Dr. Jaliman  is a firm believer in Aveeno Positively Radiant Skin Brightening Scrub to help unclog pores, scrub away dead skin cells and reveal a healthy, revitalized complexion.

Quick & Easy Holiday Makeup

The holidays are the perfect time to switch up your makeup routine, but that doesn’t mean you have to spend hours slaving away in the bathroom perfecting your look. With these helpful tips and tricks, you’ll be able to achieve a party-worthy look in no time flat!

1. Skip the heavy foundation – instead, give skin a luminous glow and light coverage with a tinted moisturizer like Smashbox Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer. This will help even out your complexion while softening harsh lines and wrinkles.

2. Sweep a copper or gold-hued eyeshadow across lids, like one (or all) of the coordinating shades in Palladio’s Eyeshadow Quad in Copper ‘N Chic.

3. We are huge fans of stay-put eyeliner, especially during the holidays – there’s no time for touch-ups! We like Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner as well as their Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner. (Bonus: Stila’s “Seeing Stars” Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner Set makes a great gift!) Just line upper lash lines, and finish with a coat of your favorite mascara.

4. Swipe a cream blush on cheeks for a rosy glow. We love cream blush because it’s so long wearing.

5. Finish with a coat of your favorite lipstick or gloss (red is in, but you can also opt for a deep berry shade!)

Today’s Outfit: TJ Maxx Score Outfit #1

Last week, I scored big time at TJ Maxx! What would have cost me over $1,500 in a department store cost me around $200 in T.J.Maxx! Oh yeah, I’m a Maxxinista baby…

I bought mostly wardrobe staples and accessories that would bring my summer wardrobe into Fall without too much effort (or cost). One of my favorite items I purchased was a cropped faux leather jacket that was on sale for just $20! I an IN LOVE with this jacket!

My other favorite score were these rust colored ponte knit jeggings that were only $14.99!!! I can wear them with so many different things through the entire Fall season AND probably into winter too!

Here are 2 different outfit examples of items I purchased at TJ Maxx that feature the black jacket and the rust colored skinnies…

Both of those gorgeous blouses I bought at TJ’s too – one for $12.99 and one for $14.99. And those absolutely adorable animal print studded ballet flats practically jumped into my shopping cart all by themselves… Seriously. They knew they had to come home with me. And at only $16.99, I wasn’t going to protest.

It got cold, fast, here in New England so I wasn’t about to wear a thin blouse today. So I’m wearing a black long sleeve shirt under a gray sweater (two things that were already in my wardrobe) and I’m wearing them with that black leather jacket, the rust colored jeggings and those studded ballet flats. Super cute and super comfy!

We want YOU to score big at TJ Maxx too! Enter our TJ Maxx giveaway for a chance to win a $100 gift card for TJ Maxx! TWO WINNERS will be chosen!! Enter for chance to win today!

Today’s Outfit: Lands’ End Chino Challenge

Today I’m sporting some Chinos from Lands End! Nice, right?

I accepted the Lands’ End Chino Challenge and was allowed to pick a color and style choice from Lands After much consideration (because there were so many style and color choices!) I decided to go with Women’s Petite Fit 2 Stretch Chino Trousers in Dijon Gold ($60 at

These are absolutely going to be one of my Fall staples this year because they fit like a glove, the material is AMAZING, the color is to die for and best of all… they are super, duper comfortable.

I don’t ever want to hear anyone say “I wear yoga/pajama pants to the grocery store because they are COMFORTABLE! Jeans/Pants aren’t COMFORTABLE!” ever again! These pants will change everything you think you know about pants. Lands’ End practically reinvented the chino… These fit perfect, look sleek and stylish and they have a bit of stretch so they are super comfortable. Absolutely amazing I tell you!

THE COLOR of these pants are gorgeous… I’ve never owned a pair of mustard yellow pants before and I had no idea what I was missing! Because I’ve never owned a pair, I was stumped as to what to pair with them at first… And then I decided purple was the way to go! The result was THE perfect Fall ensemble.

A purple corduroy tailored blazer with a silky ruffle blouse, mid-heel mary janes, a brown leather belt and a hoard of gold bangles. I think this outfit is perfect for work or play!

I am absolutely in love with these chinos. They come in a variety of gorgeous Fall colors so you’ll have a hard time deciding which pair to get. They can be dressed up for dressed down. I can’t wear to try them with knits, sweaters, sweatshirts, tailored blouses and even t-shirts.

Bottom line… You need a pair of Lands’ End chinos for Fall! It’s a Fall wardrobe must-have, for sure.

What’s going in my Summer Bag?

I always make sure to keep a larger purse with me in the Summer. I don’t know why this is… perhaps it’s because I know that in the warm weather, I am more likely to do things spontaneously; more likely to grab drinks after work or change plans at the last minute? Any way you slice it, I like to have certain things with me in order to make any last minute plan change as seamless as possible! What’s in my summer bag?
