Sofft Shoe Boutique on Rue La La Today!

SÖFFT SHOE COMPANY BOUTIQUE OPENS TODAY AT 11AM ET.

Sofft is one of my favorite shoe companies in the whole world! I used to buy shoes at Payless and Wal Mart, thinking that $20 was more than enough for a pair of shoes, but then I would get them home, wear them once and be paying for it for days. Blisters, sore ankles, tired instep and the balls of my feet would be killing me. Then I discovered that when it comes to shoes, you truly get what you pay for…

And then I found Sofft shoes and everything changed! I know I can depend on no matter what pair I purchase from them, they will be comfortable, fit me well and not be a torture to walk around in. Of course you can get that kind of comfort from sneakers too, but who wants to wear sneakers all the time?!

If you’ve never owned a pair of Sofft shoes, do yourself a favor and get a pair TODAY! They will be on sale on Rue La La starting at 11am and they will sell out fast because of their extreme popularity! So be sure to check it out and find a pair you love.

Five Must-Have Tall Boots for Fall 2009 / Winter 2010

The Tall Boot copy

The Fashionable Housewife has partnered with SuperShoes.com to present to you the top five Must-Have Tall Boots for Fall and Winter.

Tall boots have always been a classic must-have for Fall, but this year they are more popular than ever. The questions I most frequently get are: “What types of boots are trendy this season?” and “What should I wear with them?”.

First off, let’s focus on 5 pairs of tall boots that are hot sellers this season…

Softspots Reagan : Mahogany - WomensSoftspots Reagan

A tall boot with sophisticated style and an easy-to-wear heel height. These are an excellent choice if you are a comfort seeking shoe lover or a busy mom that is on her feet all day. Don’t worry, you can definitely chase a toddler around the park in these boots.

Offered in soft calfskin leather in your choice of brown or black. I love the intricate stitch detailing and of course, the best part is the Pillow Top memory foam footbed. Softspots is my brand of choice when it comes to super comfy footwear.

Price: $148.95 Buy them!

Born Tatiana : Black - WomensBorn Tatiana

Often, its the thoughtful details, like the broguing detail on this boot that help set the tone for an entire look. You’ll find that these full-grain leather boots with Leawood wrapped heel and Opanka hand-sewn construction are very versatile and the perfect addition to your Fall wardrobe.

These gorgeous boots come in black and dark brown and look fabulous with jeans, leggings, skirts, dresses, and are even work appropriate. You will definitely get your money’s worth out of these boots. The outfit possibilities are endless.

Price: $174.00 Buy them!

Sofft Vittoria : Nero Black Suede - WomensSofft Vittoria

A replacement for last season’s Mela, this inviting slouch boot is another great addition for your Fall and Winter wardrobe. It’s enriched with a decorative lace-up detail and stylish leather fold-over cuff. Offered in rich Italian suedes, you can choose from black or a rich chocolaty brown. Both are just gorgeous.

Sofft is another company that focuses on comfort and these boots feature a flexible rubber sole, so you’ll get the traction you need and the comfort you seek. Check out Today’s Outfit by Kirsten Borrink for an outfit idea.

Price: $163.95 Buy them!

Born Peri : T Moro - WomensBorn Peri

Now these boots are just totally sophisticated. I can only imagine the amazing outfits I could put together with these beautiful boots!

They feature a supple leather upper with stitch detailing and of course, handsewn Opanka construction that Born is famous for. It really lends a flexible fit and feel, and the cushioned footbed offers long-lasting comfort as well. Convenient side zip entry provides easy on/off which is a nice feature as well.

The Peri boot from Born has a steel shank for support and a textured rubber sole for dependable traction. These boots are an excellent choice for the coming winter months.

Price: $179.00 Buy them!

Born Lewisa : Tan - WomensBorn Lewisa

Another Born boot I know you’re going to fall in love with. Statuesque and traditionally-inspired, this handcrafted boot is said to fit like a glove. Sounds like it could easily become your favorite closet pick!

Full grain leather or croco print nubuck Leather available in black, grey, tan, dark brown or brown croc. These boots feature a steel shank, leawood wrapped heel and of course, Opanka hand-sewn construction. The dual buckles around the ankle really modernize these and make them perfect for this season.

Review: Sofft ‘Fiorenza’ Chianti Patent Pumps

The Sofft Fiorenza pumps in Chianti Patent are like my own personal ruby slippers. With their signature padded insoles, you can expect the same all-day comfort that you’ve come to love from the Sofft brand.

These shoes are my pick for the best red shoes to invest in for Fall 2009. I decided this based on style, comfort, value for the money, and versatility.

Style: An updated and very classy looking Mary Jane pump that is perfect for Fall. The Chianti red patent leather is so striking and beautiful. Pictures really don’t do any justice to these shoes.

Comfort: Besides the amazing color, these shoes are surprisingly comfortable for having a 3 ¼ inch heel. If you have foot problems and can’t wear high heels, you should definitely give these a try. The heel doesn’t feel as high as it looks and the wide strap holds the shoes on snugly. I have several pairs of Sofft brand shoes because not only are they extremely comfortable but very stylish as well.

Fit: I recommend trying these shoes on in a store if you can. The toe box is small and you may find that either sizing up will help with this problem, or getting the wider width. I got them in a size 7 M (standard) width and they fit me quite snugly. I suspect someone with a chubbier foot than mine, might have a problem getting their foot fully into the shoe comfortably. It’s not narrow width wise as much as it’s just vertically small if that makes any sense. If you are looking for a roomy toe box, then these probably aren’t a good choice for you.

As you can see, these shoes look absolutely fabulous in the sunshine. These are the prettiest red shoes I’ve ever seen… All of the pictures I’ve seen of these online really don’t do justice to the shoes…

Value: Sofft brand shoes are extremely well made and they are known for their dedication to delivering comfortable footwear in incredibly fashionable styles. Perfect for work and office wear or for anyone who is on their feet all day. I would definitely recommend the Sofft Fiorenza to anyone who is looking for a stylish high heel shoe that is also comfortable enough for all day wear. Perfect for an office style look or work.

Versatility: While I absolutely adore the red, I realize not everyone wants red shoes. Don’t worry, you can also get these in shiny black patent and smooth black leather. Regardless of which color you choose, these are the perfect pumps to add to your wardrobe! These shoes look great with skirts and dresses, of course, but they even work with skinny ankle jeans, leggings, boyfriend jeans rolled up, and shorts with tights too.

Comfortable Dress Shoes & Heels

Believe it or not, comfortable shoes are “in style” this season. Get ready to bring on the ballet flats, wedges, and low heel styles.

While comfort is becoming more and more important even to the most prissy fashionistas, style can not be compromised. Most people think of their grandmother’s loafers when they hear “comfort footwear”, but be prepared to forget everything you think you knew about comfortable shoes.

Blogs like BarkingDogShoes.com are dedicated solely to blogging about comfortable shoes. While I try to cover this subject often, Kirsten at Barking Dog Shoes does a much better job than me! If you want to know about all the sales, new styles, and which pairs to buy, you definitely need to check out her blog.

In my search for the perfect pair of comfortable shoes, I’ve found several pairs that I love.

Some shoe brands known for their distinct styles and unsurpassed comfort includes:

Of course there are more brands that focus primarily on comfort footwear, but those are my personal favorites. Lots of these brands are really taking it up a notch with their Fall styles this year. I’ve blogged about several really gorgeous pairs this week so far.

Here are a few pairs that I personally own and love…

Dress Shoes:

Naturalizer Women's Voluminous Sandal Black Softspots Aelia (Women's) - Black Leather Sofft Fiorenza (Women's) - Black Patent Leather

Naturalizer Voluminous Peep-toe Slingback Heels – $34, Softspots Aelia Leather Mary Jane – $80, Sofft Fiorenza Patent Leather Pumps – $105

Everyday Shoes:

Softspots Paxton : Chocolate Suede - Womens 6146_F49_detail Indigo by Clarks Women's Hope Pump Black

L to R: Softspots Paxton Wedge Slip-on – $75, Naot Trendy Mary Jane – $170 , Indigo by Clarks Hope Pump – $30

Flats and more:

Clarks - Cajun Cloud (Stone (Taupe)) - Footwear Hush Puppies - Fast (Brown Metallic Leather/Bronze Snake Fabric) - Footwear Dr. Scholl's - Dance (Natural Giraffe) - Footwear

L to R: Clarks Cajun Cloud Flat – $25 and up, Hush Puppies Fast Slip-on Ballerina Flat – $40, Dr. Scholl’s Dance Clog – $55,

Please don’t even ask me what I was thinking of when I I bought the Dr. Scholl’s Dance Clog. I’m pretty sure it was a complete and total lapse of sanity on my part… In all seriousness, I saw a woman hailing a cab wearing them with a cute dress and a scarf around her neck. She looked so cute and somehow the shoes looked great with her outfit. I had seen them online before so I knew exactly what shoes they were. So I came home and looked them up online, saw them on sale on Amazon.com for $30 and decided to go for it… I was a little disappointed in them though. With bare feet, my pinky toe gets stuck in the little holes in the side. And they are slippery and hard to keep on your feet which makes them impossible to wear with socks, unless you wear them with slipper socks with the little rubber grippies on the bottom. In theory, I totally thought they would work, but they just didn’t… For me anyway. Does anyone else have a pair???

In conclusion, my point in all of this was to say that there are finally some comfortable and practical shoes out there that really keep up with the trends! Check out sites like Shoeline.com that are specifically geared towards comfort footwear.

You can also shop for shoes at Overstock.com and find brands like Naturalizer and Sofft at seriously discounted prices. You can also check out your local TJ Maxx and Marshalls for the latest styles from Clarks, Sofft and Aerosoles.
