Today’s Outfit: TJ Maxx Score Outfit #1

Last week, I scored big time at TJ Maxx! What would have cost me over $1,500 in a department store cost me around $200 in T.J.Maxx! Oh yeah, I’m a Maxxinista baby…

I bought mostly wardrobe staples and accessories that would bring my summer wardrobe into Fall without too much effort (or cost). One of my favorite items I purchased was a cropped faux leather jacket that was on sale for just $20! I an IN LOVE with this jacket!

My other favorite score were these rust colored ponte knit jeggings that were only $14.99!!! I can wear them with so many different things through the entire Fall season AND probably into winter too!

Here are 2 different outfit examples of items I purchased at TJ Maxx that feature the black jacket and the rust colored skinnies…

Both of those gorgeous blouses I bought at TJ’s too – one for $12.99 and one for $14.99. And those absolutely adorable animal print studded ballet flats practically jumped into my shopping cart all by themselves… Seriously. They knew they had to come home with me. And at only $16.99, I wasn’t going to protest.

It got cold, fast, here in New England so I wasn’t about to wear a thin blouse today. So I’m wearing a black long sleeve shirt under a gray sweater (two things that were already in my wardrobe) and I’m wearing them with that black leather jacket, the rust colored jeggings and those studded ballet flats. Super cute and super comfy!

Flat Over The Knee Boots – Trend for Fall 2009 / Winter 2010

I am absolutely loving the Over The Knee boots trend for Fall. Luckily I haven’t seen anyone abusing this trend yet! *crosses fingers*

I’ve gotten a lot of requests for Flat Suede Over-The-Knee Boots. I think people are leaning more towards the flat over the knee boots, because so many of the over the knee boots with heels are borderline dumpy hooker and need to be worn with extreme care.

If you are going to wear your boots with skirts or dresses that are above the knee, consider getting a pair of over the knee socks to wear under your boots.

Not everyone can splurge on this trend, so I went on a search to find some nice ones in three different price points. First, we’ll start with the popular and more pricey ones and work our way down from there…

Ponté Knit Pants Make A Comeback

I never would of thought I would be posting about knit pants and fashion in the same sentence, but look at me go! Apparently knit pants are making a comeback in a big way.

Take a look at any Fall 2009 collection on your favorite website and you’ll probably find Ponte Knit pants or Knit jeans of some sort. I was shoppinng on Nordstrom.com when I came across some stylish BCBG MAXAZRIA ‘Maria’ Slim Ponte Knit Pants but they are $138.00. So it made me want to look around and see if that was really the going price for ponte knit pants these days. You know me and my bargain hunting!

I found a pair of high waisted ponte knit pants on Newport News for only $29! SCORE! After a few more hours of online shopping, I found that Victoria’s Secret has a pair of Knit ponte jodhpur pant in their new Fall 2009 collection, but they are $88. I like them though because they look a lot like the classic riding pant, with front seams. Made out of a comfy stretch fabric, these would look great tucked into boots.

Browsing on Bloomingdales.com, I found a pair of fab looking Marc By Marc Jacobs Ponte Knit Skinny Pants. LOVE them. Too bad they are $228… The good news is, I found a similar pair of Skinny Ponte Knit Pants on JCPenny.com for only $24.99 for petite size and $27.99 for regular sizes. I nabbed those immediately. Ponte knit pants are a great alternative to jeans. You can dress them up, dress them down, and either way you’ll still be comfortable. Great for busy moms that usually wear yoga pants. Ponte knits pants feel like yoga pants, but look like trousers. Perfect for running errands or traveling.
