It’s hard to find bath products that are scented with Patchouli. Most shower gels and deodorants have some less than appealing flower scent to them. I love patchouli so I’m always searching high and low for anything with patchouli in it. Luckily, Kiss My Face has a ton of patchouli scented products I can indulge in.

My mom has always worn Patchouli and I started wearing patchouli at a young age. It’s like our signature scent and we always get pulled aside while we’re out running errands and asked “What are you wearing? You smell great!”

Honestly, the shower gel and lotion are my two favorites. I haven’t tried the soap or moisture shave yet, but I’m looking forward to it!

Gentle Natural Body Scrub – North American Hemp Co. Review

I recently received a couple products from North American Hemp Co. to test out and review. One product of theirs I really felt was worth mentioning on the blog is their Hemp Husk Exfoliating Body Scrub.

I have mixed thoughts on this body scrub, but most are positive. Being someone who exfoliates a couple times a week and is addicted to body scrubs, I found this one to be too gentle for my taste. They call it “exfoliating body scrub” but I really didn’t find that it exfoliated much at all.

My three year old loves to try out all my different soaps and body washes when she’s in the bath, so I let her try this one out since it was natural, Sulphate Free, Paraben & DEA Free, Cruelty Free & Vegan. She has sensitive skin of course, so obviously she’s not crazy about the intense, exfoliating scrubs I love, like the Naturopathica Lemongrass Mimosa Body Scrub. Let’s just say that the North American Hemp Co Body Scrub is so not exfoliating, that she likes to use it.

An exact quote from her: “It’s not scratchy momma! I like it!”

Need I say more?! lol

While it doesn’t have enough scrub and “scratchies” in it for my personal taste, I think this would be an excellent choice for someone like Laney over at The Fashionable Gal, who has extremely sensitive skin and isn’t a fan of harsh scrubs. If you’re not accustomed to using scrubs and you’re new to exfoliating, this would be a great product to start with. Not intimidating at all!

It actually foams up and gets soapy like a body wash and cleanses skin without leaving it dry. I also like the light pleasant scent this product has. However, I think that the small amount of hemp husk in there that makes it a “scrub” actually makes this product less versatile because I could wash my whole body with it and use it as bubble bath and maybe even shampoo, if it didn’t have the hemp husk in there.

If you have sensitive skin, don’t usually use a body scrub or you are new to exfoliating, then this would be a great product for you!

I was lucky enough to get a sample of their famous Lavender Lotion ($16) to test out and review. I’ve always been a fan of lavender, so I was excited to try this out!

I like that the formula of this lotion is thin because it makes it easy to slather on my entire body before bed. While it’s not overly moisturizing, it does soak into skin quickly, leaving me in a halo of lavender that is perfect before bed. Relaxing, rejuvenating and just what this tired pregnant lady needs before she attempts to fall asleep. I would definitely recommend this lavender lotion over other organic lavender lotions I’ve tried because it has a stronger scent that lasts longer. Plus is soaks into skin quickly and spreads more evenly, much like a body oil. I just love it!

I would love to try their Lavender Shortbread Cookie Scrub ($22), said to be a sweet treat for the entire body! This shea butter scrub combines the yummy fragrance of shortbread cookie dough with the stress-reducing scent of lavender for a relaxing bath time ritual. Sounds fabulous, doesn’t it??

I’ve also heard great things about their Lavender Shampoo and Lavender Conditioner ($16/each) – the shampoo features strengthening wheat protein, rosehip seed oil and scalp-stimulating jojoba oil to clean without stripping hair, and the moisturizing conditioner features rosehip oil and vitamin B, as well as organic lavender, to leave hair shiny and bouncy.

I was delighted to have the opportunity to review a couple of their products including their new SPF30 Mineral Sunscreen. I’ve been using it for about 2 weeks on my almost 3 year old daughter. This pregnancy has been totally different for me and one thing I’ve been totally addicted to is grapefruit. I eat grapefruit all day long, I drink grapefruit juice and grapefruit soda, I use grapefruit body mist, grapefruit lip balm, grapefruit body wash and of course, Origins Gloomaway Grapefruit body souffle.

They aren’t joking around when they calls this a souffle. It’s the most heavenly body cream I’ve ever used and a little goes a long way. Thick, sumptuous, and divine are just three words that can describe this body cream.
