About Elaine Turner, The Designer…

Getting Revenge In Style- Part 2

Yesterday I shared my love of Revenge- particularly the fashions those Hamptons ladies wear. In honor of tonight’s finale, I created the following tribute: a fashion face-off between neighboring nemeses Victoria and Emily. As value is always a priority here, I found Grayson-worthy pieces for Stowaway prices.

Since Victoria loves to be the center of attention, she never shies away from color. Her wardrobe is full of conspicuously expensive dresses that fit her like a glove and bold, “notice me” accessories.” (Remember this necklace?) The trickiest part of her look was finding the dress. Rich color + formfitting often looks cheap, something the Queen of the Hamptons certainly isn’t. I hit gold when I found the fabulous Lauren by Ralph Lauren below.

As for Emily, I get the feeling that her pointedly neutral, perfectly classic wardrobe is meant to suggest a blank canvas– revealing nothing about her tormented psyche. (And BTW, she totally validates the ancient proverb, “Any woman wearing that much beige is hiding something.“) Regardless, I love her look and had fun putting together the Emily-appropo ensemble below.

Lovingly made in England, Zatchels is a handbag brand unlike anything I have really seen in the U.S. and as a gift idea? I would absolutely adore one of their handbags or satchels being gifted to me! I have to say that I am really smitten with all their bags in general but in particular their new Metallic Stars and Metallics collection. They are funky and fun, but functional as well!

 

With a bright metallic shine and bold print, this Metallic Stars satchel will make the perfect Christmas gift or treat yourself and you will be shining like a star. Its fun and vibrant design will have you turning heads when you are out and about this Winter. In addition to the Metallic Stars collection, there is the simpler yet still sassy, Metallic collection which channels the same look but without the stars. It’s just as gorgeous and has any shade you could basically want.

With a lot of different sizes, there is something for everyone that is for sure. They have got all your colors covered, all your designs covered and all your sizes… what is not to love? And get this… each and every handbag is handmade, as in you order it and then they make it to order. I think that makes it even more special.

As an owner of a Zatchels satchel (this here polka dot collection member in white and navy), I can attest to the quality and craftsmanship of this beautiful bag. It is not only interesting but it is large enough to hold everything that I want to put in my handbag.  I think this is the type of bag that will only get better with age and use. Since it’s made from quality leather, I am totally looking forward to using this bag for years to come.  This is one of those investment bags that you would use off and on for years, and with so many colors and designs available, there is something for everyone!
