FHI HEAT’s Runway Named “Best Flat Iron” by InStyle Magazine

FHI HEAT’s Runway Named “Best Flat Iron” by InStyle for Second Consecutive Year in “Best Beauty Buys” Issue.

FHI Heat, the hair industry’s leading innovator in ceramic, tourmaline and Nano-Fuzeion technologies, announces that its Runway styling iron has been named “Best Flat Iron” by InStyle for its “Best Beauty Buys” April 2009 issue. The magazine features the Runway in both its print issue and online at www.instyle.com. This represents the second straight year the Runway has received this distinction.

“We are deeply honored to have received this prestigious recognition once again,” states David Kim, CEO of FHI Heat, Inc., global manufacturer of professional hair tools. “FHI Heat continues to receive accolades from the industry’s top hairstylists working in the U.S. as well as Canada, the U.K., Europe, Australia, South Africa and Latin America, where our products are distributed. It’s very rewarding to know that the Runway styling iron has been positively experienced by so many hairstylists around the world.”

fhiThe FHI Heat Runway Professional Ceramic Tourmaline Styling Iron perfects the art of coiffing hair by employing a patented Integrated Ceramic Heating System (I.C.H.S.), which allows it to recover lost heat extremely effectively so that the iron maintains optimal temperature even when applied to damp hair. Like all FHI Heat styling tools, it also employs proprietary Nano-Fuzeion technology, which is a unique combination of Nano-Titanium, Nano-Titanium Oxide and Nano-Silver particles. Together, the triple function of the Nano-Fuzeion technology removes bacteria, toxins and static, producing superior conditioning and shine, while providing unmatched health and purification benefits for the hair.

The FHI Heat Runway Professional Ceramic Tourmaline Styling Iron has a remarkably wide temperature range, going from 140º F to 450º F degrees, making it ideal for all hair types. Other features include: six hand-baked, hand-fused solid 1″-wide ceramic plates covered by a large quantity of crushed tourmaline crystals, which makes this iron more potent in producing greater amounts of far-infrared heat, which gently heats hair from the inside out to minimize heat damage. With the aid of the tourmaline crystals, these irons produce more negative ions, helping break water molecules and allowing hair to be conditioned from the inside out. Additional benefits include: curling hair with the beveled edges of the ceramic plates; ultra-rapid heating; damp to dry styling; protecting color and preventing color fading; sealing the cuticle to lock in moisture and repel humidity, which helps eliminate frizz.

Products offered by FHI Heat include blow dryers, styling irons, curling irons, razors, heat-activated conditioners, styling clips, carbon combs, shears, brushes and a chemical straightening system. The new technologically advanced FHI Heat products are available at fine hair salons and professional beauty retailers nationwide, via toll-free number at 877.FHI.HEAT (877.344.4328) and online at www.fhiheat.com. Spring 2009 Hairstyles: Loose Curls and Waves

waves2009

We saw a lot of loose curls and waves in the Spring 2009 Runway shows and now that it’s getting closer to Spring, we’re seeing several celebrities jump start this laid-back trend. Audrina Patridge is the one who really made this style a must-have for Spring though. She makes this casual hairstyle smoking hot!

Create This Look:

You’ll need a curling iron like the Conair Tourmaline Ceramic Deep Wave Iron with a 2 1/4″ barrelicon. Hold the curling iron so that the end is pointing downward. Wrap a small 1 inch section of your hair around the barrel of the curling iron. Do not use the clamp, because you don’t want tight curls, just waves. Leave hair wrapped around barrel for 10-20 seconds or till your hair is slightly curled.

When you hair cools off, tug at the end of each ringlet till they loosen up and look naturally curly. Start with the underneath hairs in the back until you get the hang of this technique.

Lightly mist with a light hold hairspray like Aussie Sydney Smooth 12 Hour Anti-Humidity Hair Sprayicon.

Another easy way to create this look and braid hair in 2 loose braids while hair is still damp and then let it dry overnight. Carefully take it out in the morning and don’t brush it out.

Finish look with a product that will add shine like Enjoy Shine & Smooth or Enjoy Shine Spray.

I Got My Hair Trimmed & Styled

Just got back from having my hair trimmed at Cassandra Salon. My stylist, Jon, is fantastic. He always makes my hair look great no matter what.

Last time I got my hair cut was in November, and I was due for another haircut a week before Christmas, but we had a big snowstorm and they didn’t plow my road (we live on a dead end road) and I had to cancel my appointment. The next availability was today, which was over 2 weeks later! So I went 7 weeks without a trim.

Because the back of my bob was tapered and stacked, it grew out really funny… I have a TON of hair and it’s wicked thick so it was flat on the top and looked like a frizzy bush in the back. It was close to unmanageable for over a week now, so I was very anxious to get to my appointment!!!

I had him cut it in such a way so that it will be easier to grow out without needing it trimmed constantly. I made my next appointment for 4 weeks from now. And I’m also going to get my eyebrows waxed and shaped for THE FIRST TIME. I’ll have to let you know how that goes… I’m a little nervous!
