HKNB Fashionable & Stylish Workout Wear

If you’re anything like me, you probably have trouble staying motivated and sticking to your fitness routine. Every day I come up with a bunch of excuses (to myself) of why I don’t need to workout that day or why I have something else to do that’s more important. I’m too busy today, I don’t have the energy, my weight is ok today, my jeans fit fine today I’ll wait till tomorrow, I have too many things on my to-do list to make time today, I’m having my period, I have a headache, my knee hurts, my asthma symptoms are acting up today, and the list of excuses goes on and on…

Sometimes one of the only ways I can get myself to actually workout is to get on the stair stepper while I’m watching recorded episodes of The Carrie Diary’s or Dancing With The Stars (my guilty pleasure.) My (attempted) daily workout routine usually consists of yoga, walking and the stair stepper. One of the ways I keep myself motivated is to wear stylish workout clothes! Wearing pieces that flatter my body help me feel confident which helps me stay motivated.

Today I started off my morning with my own little modified version of yoga and some stretching…

I was treated to four pieces from the new collection by Heidi Klum for New Balance that I couldn’t wait to try out. Above, I’m wearing the HKNB Coverup ($79.99) and HKNB Tech Capri ($74.99).

What’s nice about the pieces in her new collection is they are appropriate for any kind of workout routine. Whether you like running, walking, dancing, yoga, pilates, aerobics or just going to the gym, any of the items in the Heidi Klum for New Balance Collection will easily fit into your workout wardrobe.

Once I warmed up, I took off the super soft and comfortable coverup and stripped down to the HKNB Tunic Tee ($39.99) in florescent green. I love how thin and lightweight this tee is. It’s very stretchy and soft, making it very comfortable to workout in. The Tech Capri’s are equally as comfortable. Slim fitting and super stretchy, I feel totally unrestricted wearing these – like I could do anything! Same with the HKNB Essential Tight ($74.99) which are pretty much my favorite leggings now. They have cute shirring/gathering at the ankles, a hidden pocket in the waist band for your keys (or other small items) and are made of a moisture wicking fabric.

All four of the pieces I received to review fit perfectly, were very comfortable and flattering as well. My favorite pieces was definitely the HKNB Coverup. I am absolutely in LOVE with it! It’s super soft on this inside, which is great against bare skin, unlike most workout sweatshirts. I also appreciate that it’s long enough to cover my butt, which is essential in my opinion! Another neat feature is the thumb holes in the sleeves and the large kangaroo pocket in the front. Perfect for putting your hands in or throwing your cell phone or iPod into. This coverup has such a nice shape to it and is so stylish that I can definitely wear it even when I’m not exercising. It’s definitely going to be a part of my daily wardrobe, not just my workout wear.

Home Decor: Zest Things Up In The Bedroom

Ready to get zesty?

As you know I recently gave my master bedroom a room makeover for under $200. I really spiced things up with a gorgeous blend of yellow and gray which is a super trendy color combination for home decor right now.

Although the yellow bedspread was an amazing improvement over the brown and red theme, I’m still not satisfied with my work. I spent a lot of time over the weekend browsing Pinterest, looking for ideas and I think I finally figured out what I need to do!

Picture this…

I paint the wall behind the bed yellow, so a stencil of birds or something in white, and put a shelf aver head (as seen above) and put black and white pictures of different sizes all along the shelf.

Yeah?!

The other things I considered was doing peel and stick wallpaper (as seen below) on just the wall behind the bed…

Them, I was thinking I could get a cool gray headboard like this one…

Either way I think that will really improve the overall bedroom makeover. The boring beige walls with just a couple of bird pictures aren’t exciting enough. I really like lively home decor and this just isn’t exciting enough for my taste. I feel like either way I need to do something BIG to the wall behind the bed wither with paint, wallpaper and/or a headboard. I think it will ZEST things up in the bedroom!

Home Decor: Spice Things Up In The Bedroom

I recently took my bedroom from winter into spring with a room makeover for under $200. What was once dark and dull is now filled with springtime and sunshine! I really spiced things up with a nice blend of yellow and gray – a hot color combination for home decor right now. The birds are pretty cool too…

Truth be told, I’m not totally satisfied with my room yet. It still needs something. I’m thinking of something a little more exciting… something a bit more zesty perhaps.

While I like the three bird pictures on the wall behind the bed, I’d really like something more exciting. I was thinking I would make my own headboard. I’ve seen them do it on TV before and I’m pretty sure I can do it… But I headed to my local fabric store and found that the material I wanted was $15.99 A YARD! At that price it would be over $50 just for the material and then I would still need to buy plywood, batting, etc to make the rest of it. Now we’re looking at $100! For that price, I could buy a pre-made headboard at a discount store.

I’m sure I will figure something out though. I really think a headboard would really complete my new look.

Meanwhile… I was able to score a $0.99 discounted swatch of yellow material that was just the right size for me to reupholster a tiny stool in my room! In the next store, I found a houndstooth throw on sale for $7 (down from $55!) which I threw over my burgundy rocking chair to make it blend into my new decor and match my curtains a bit better.

Is it perfect? No. Is it my dream decor yet? No. But it totally made a huge improvement in that corner of my bedroom for under $10! Can’t beat that.

I totally know how to spice things up, don’t I?!

LEGO DUPLO Playtime for The Fashionable Bambinos!

LEGO DUPLO knows the importance of playtime, and the special bonding moments that arise through play. So we were excited when we were asked to review some of Lego Duplo’s new products.

I have two children – a daughter who just turned 5 years old and a son who is 2 years old. They were eager to try out the “new toys” and the expressions on their faces when I opened the box was priceless…

We spent over an hour playing with LEGO DUPLO Creative Cakes and two different LEGO DUPLO Read & Build play sets.

Play is a timeless feature of human societies, and when combined with 21st century learning it provides children and adults with opportunities to experiment with their surroundings. Both me and my two kids really enjoyed the Read & Build sets. My 5 year old daughter was able to read the story and help her little brother build the animals from the book which was a great bonding experience for them.

The pictures in the book are simple enough for my two year old to look at and immediately build all by himself, which quite visibly gave him a thrill and a boost in his self esteem. It was a great activity they could do together that didn’t cause any fighting or jealousy as they were able to work with the toys together or apart. Through play, children explore and develop their multiple senses, which creates more brain synapses. This in turn contributes to a child’s overall intelligence. I feel that the Read & Build sets are built to do just that. I feel good about my kids playing with them and know they are learning AND having fun at the same time.

The Creative Cakes set was even more fun for them! More pieces and endless possibilities resulted in over an hour of happy playtime for both of them, together. It was also easy for me to play along with them which was a great bonding experience for all of us.

Overall I was really happy with the Lego Duplo products and they will be our toys of choice when it’s time to play for a quite a while!

If you haven’t tried Müller yogurt yet, you need to give it a shot! Look for it the next time you are in the yogurt section when you are doing your grocery shopping. So many yummy flavors to choose from, you are sure to find one that you love. My favorite flavor, out of all the ones I tried, was the Greek style Caramelized Almonds. SO YUMMY! I love the crunchiness in my yogurt with the subtle sweetness. Course, the yogurt itself is so yummy and creamy, I could eat it plain. Most greek yogurts have a sourness and thickness that some people really don’t like… Myself, I’ve gotten use to it. You don’t have to “get used to” anything about Müller yogurt except making room for it in your grocery cart. You’re gonna love it!!!!!!!
