Today’s Outfit: TJ Maxx Score Outfit #1

Last week, I scored big time at TJ Maxx! What would have cost me over $1,500 in a department store cost me around $200 in T.J.Maxx! Oh yeah, I’m a Maxxinista baby…

I bought mostly wardrobe staples and accessories that would bring my summer wardrobe into Fall without too much effort (or cost). One of my favorite items I purchased was a cropped faux leather jacket that was on sale for just $20! I an IN LOVE with this jacket!

My other favorite score were these rust colored ponte knit jeggings that were only $14.99!!! I can wear them with so many different things through the entire Fall season AND probably into winter too!

Here are 2 different outfit examples of items I purchased at TJ Maxx that feature the black jacket and the rust colored skinnies…

Both of those gorgeous blouses I bought at TJ’s too – one for $12.99 and one for $14.99. And those absolutely adorable animal print studded ballet flats practically jumped into my shopping cart all by themselves… Seriously. They knew they had to come home with me. And at only $16.99, I wasn’t going to protest.

It got cold, fast, here in New England so I wasn’t about to wear a thin blouse today. So I’m wearing a black long sleeve shirt under a gray sweater (two things that were already in my wardrobe) and I’m wearing them with that black leather jacket, the rust colored jeggings and those studded ballet flats. Super cute and super comfy!

We want YOU to score big at TJ Maxx too! Enter our TJ Maxx giveaway for a chance to win a $100 gift card for TJ Maxx! TWO WINNERS will be chosen!! Enter for chance to win today!

Today’s Outfit: Lydra Artistic Leggings

I found the coolest, most unique leggings on the planet and I think you are going to LOVE them!

Pins by Lydra is a new fashion label based in Melbourne, Australia that collaborates with artists, photographers, painters and graphic designers to put their artwork onto leggings. The leggings are all made locally in Melbourne by a team of lovely ladies known as the Lydra ladies.

I’m wearing Miss Valencia in a size medium – a little loose on me now that I’ve lost weight. I would say they run true to size but please consult the size chart before making a purchase.

Digitally hand-printed and hand-sewn, Pins by Lydra is a series of designer leggings that aim to showcase artists and musicians work in a unique and fun way. Being serious art and music fan, the brand also allows collaborating artists and musicians to keep a part of profit from every pair of leggings sold.

All Pins by Lydra leggings come in four sizes: SX, S, M and L. They are packaged in an intricate flat box carefully laser-cut in Lydra’a studio in Melbourne. The package can later be reused as a mailing parcel.

There is so much though behind every detail at Lydra, that it really makes you feel good about supporting this company.

Today’s Outfit: Red Bermuda Shorts

Nothing makes an outfit pop as much as a big ol’ splash of red! My outfit today got a big dose of sunshine with these Lee Comfort Fit West Bermuda Shorts. They have a clean utility styling and flexible hidden “comfort waist” made of elastic that stretches with your every move. Perfect for someone like me with young kids!

Today’s Outfit: Element Worn Denim Shorts

When I got these shorts back in May to review, I couldn’t get them on… I mean like, I got them up to my mid-thigh area and they weren’t going to go up any higher than that. It was really discouraging. But then I went on The Dukan Diet and lost 15 pounds! Well, now the shorts are too big for me! I love them so much though, even if they are a little baggy…

I had my hair trimmed and layered at Cassandra Salon in Nashua, NH last week. My stylist, Jon, is the best. If you are ever in the area, book an appointment with him!

They come with that cute little leather tie belt. I love the blue and white striped print on the pockets that peek out under the shorts. It’s a cute touch!

My nails are still holding up with Jamberry Black Floral nail shields. Aren’t they pretty?

Today’s Outfit: Tunic & Marika Miracles Slimming Capri

I got this super cool Shu Shu Orange Abstract Graffiti Tunic on ZULILY for only $24.99 (Originally $75). I don’t have much for orange in my wardrobe so this is me sticking my big toe into the water! It isn’t “orange” but it has enough orange in it to make me feel like I’m trying out the “orange trend” which is super popular for Spring 2012.

I didn’t think this tunic would be so huge on me when I bought it! On the model, it looked like a regular tunic… on me, it looks like a dress! I like it though because it’s a very comfy, stretchy material but it’s lightweight and airy for hot summer days. I’m wearing it with Marika Miracles Slimming Capris that have built in shapewear that slim your tummy and thighs. These capris feature power mesh on the side panels and on the waistband for compression and support, breathable gusset lining to keep you dry. I wanted them in a medium, but they sent me size small. To my surprise, they fit perfect and sucked everything in nicely without being too tight or uncomfortable. I love them!

Shopping Guide for Orlando Florida Outlet Malls and Stores

If you are in Florida on Spring Break this week and you’re looking to do some shopping, there are a few places you definitely need to check out and a couple places you should avoid!

Orlando Premium Outlets is a MUST STOP if you want to do some discount shopping. They have two locations in Orlando and a great selection of stores at both including Forever 21 (my fav), Crocs, Gap Outlet, Loft Outlet and more. Most of them are cheaper than just hitting up your local mall, but don’t buy expensive items on impulse! If you have a smart phone, download a bar scanner app like “Barcode Scanner” by ZXing Team for Androids and use it to scan the bar code of pricey items to check out the prices online. It has saved me from overspending dozens of times! Just 30 secs or less of research will show you quickly if you can get it cheaper online.

If you are in Orlando and want to grab some souvenirs, some of the gift shops are absurdly priced and have a horrible selection. Best thing to do is head to Kissimmee for your gift shopping because almost all of the gift shops in Orlando are way overpriced. I found at least three great gift shops on the W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy / 192 in Kissimmee. Head south, out of Orlando on 535 until you reach 192 and go left (East). There are numerous gift stores up there, a great Flea Market with discount bags, jewelry, tees and more as well as a huge Goodwill store too!

Not all Outlet Malls are actually a bargain. They say “outlet” but they are fake! One place you should avoid shopping is Lake Buena Vista Factory Outlet Stores in Kissimmee, right outside Orlando near Disney World. Everything is full price, nothing is a bargain and they have extremely small and limited sale sections.

If you want more shopping suggestions or want me to check out specific stores while I’m in the Orlando area, leave a comment and let me know!
