Fall Fashion Trend Alert – Lace

There are tons of fashion trends for fall 2011, but one I love is that lace is back and more wearable than ever. If you dare to tackle the lace trend, check out these pieces for inspiration.

Behind The Scenes With Vanessa Hudgens, Candie’s “IT” Girl for Fall 2011

We are so lucky to have a sneak peek at the the fall creative for Candie’s via Kohl’s featuring a one Miss Vanessa Hudgens. It features Hudgens starring in “Candie’s-isms,” the code Candie’s girls live by, which is always to look on the pink side of life.  Key rules include: “Candie’s girls believe you can do anything in heels,” “Candie’s girls know sprinkles are a food group” and “Candie’s girls never forget to treat themselves.” Anyhoo, so do you guys want to see a some behind the scenes pics and an early look at the ads? We thought so.

Fashion Conundrum

In the early fall I bought a pair of peep-toe booties.  Initially I wasn’t really sure that they would “work”, but since I am always ready for a fashion adventure I decided to give them a real shot at becoming a cornerstone of my wardrobe.  They have delivered beautifully!  I wear them with jeans, long flowing skirts, short skirts, dress pants…I even paired them with a black cocktail dress for a special event.   My peep-toe booties are the perfect combination of edgy and functional and comfortable and “not too out there” and heel height.  I LOVE them!

Nine West Highstep Bootie, $109 at Piperlime

Here is my conundrum…It’s the end of November.  Winter is coming.  I live in a cold climate.  Even on the days when the temperature is hovering in the 50s my toes are getting cold.  And it’s kind of weird to sport open toes after a certain calendar date.  I’ve begun to notice people looking at my feet when I’m standing in line at Starbucks.  Are they admiring my shoes or are they thinking that I’m crazy for not completely covering my feet?  But I love my peep-toe booties!  They have become my go-to footwear.  By the time the weather improves enough to wear open toe shoes again we’ll be looking at bright colored sandals and flip-flops.

How long do you think I can wear open-toe booties and not look like a freak?

Fall 2010 Fashion Trends: Matchy Matchy

Trending strong this fall is the “matchy matchy” look of hue dressing. Once thought of as a fashion NO is now a fashion go with runway looks from Oscar De La Renta, Isaac Mizrahi, Marc Jacobs, Salvatore Ferragamo, Burberry and more… Now I am not saying that you should take this trend literally and get all the purple goods that you have and wear them at the same time; all I’m sayin’ is that we can wear those choice pieces in the same colors and pull ‘em off!

Red: Dress by American Eagle $24.95,  Blazer by Spiegel $39.00, Steve Madden Boots $159.00

Brown: Steve Madden Boots $58.00, 7 for All Mankind Skinny Jeans, $89.00 Brown Military Jacket, Hot Topic $39.00 Yellow Tunic from Ecrater $12.00

Loving My Eddie Moran Lola Knee High Boots

The other day, I was bopping around on the internet when i randomly came across Eddie Moran Lola Knee-High Boots. I just fell in love instantly and impulsively purchased them!

After I bought them, I thought “Oh gosh! That’s so not like me!” I mean I usually research things to death before I hit the checkout button. I didn’t even comparison shop first! ACK!!!!

So away I went to comparison shop and price check, even though I already purchased them. I had to at least make sure I got a good deal. Thankfully, I DID!! I couldn’t find boots this lovely on any other site that were less expensive. I found lots of others that looked like this for $100+ though.

So, since they ended up being such a great deal, I just had to tell you ladies about them! And not only that, I am totally happy with them because they ended up fitting me perfect AND they are comfortable too.

Price: $54.95
