Burt’s Bees Wants You To Find Your Inner “Burt”

This April, Burt’s Bees celebrates 40 years of Earth Day with a nod to none other than their namesake and co-founder, Burt Shavitz.

On April 22nd, 2010, Burt look-alikes will take to the streets of New York, handing out samples and urging folks to be as eco-friendly as Burt in honor of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. Passing out free “Burt” beards and hats, the Burt look-alikes will help transform the crowds into “Burts” themselves.

Look for them near Rockefeller Center and in Central Park. Burt’s Bees will also be offering people-powered natural smoothies at a “Bike Blender” station in Times Square (the pedaling action actually powers the blenders), where visitors can stop by and enjoy a smoothie featuring natural ingredients.

Not in New York? Log on to www.findyourburt.com for more information and to learn ways you can be more eco-friendly!

This 3-step regimen kit is dermatologist tested and won’t irritate skin or clog pores. If you’re a long time fan of this blog then you know all about my struggle with acne. Very few products have helped keep my acne at bay and I’ve tried literally dozens of products over the years. I expected Burt’s Bees to be a nice kit of natural products, but I really didn’t expect it to do much for my acne. And since I haven’t had good luck in the past with acne products containing salicylic acid, I didn’t expect this to go well.

The kit includes the following:

  • Purifying Gel Cleanser (5 fl oz) – Step 1
  • Full-size Daily Moisturizing Lotion (2 oz) – Step 2
  • Full-size Targeted Spot Treatment (0.26 fl oz) – Step 3

I also got to try the Burt’s Bees Refining Facial Scrub as well.

Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Review

I have tried a lot of different lip balms in the past few years, and this is by far, my favorite lip balm in the whole world.

Now, I know everyone has different tastes when it comes to lip balm, so not everyone is going to like this as much as I do. But for only $3.00 a tube, it’s definitely worth trying.

I have about 10 tubes of this stuff. You can find lip balm or chap stick, just about anywhere in my house. Next to the bed, next to the computer, on top of the TV, in a drawer in the kitchen, in my coat pocket, in the bathroom, in the basket on the coffee table, and I’ve even found one sitting in my shoe before. I am addicted to lip balm, and this one in particular.

Burt’s Bees explains why their lip balm works:

This is our most popular product of all. It’s packed with protective ingredients such as ultra emollient lanolin and almond oil to help soothe cracked or chapped lips. You can use it on healthy lips for a little peppermint tingle. You may want to keep one in your pocket, one in your desk and one in your car. Soon, you’ll hold them close to your heart. They’re available in the old-fashioned yellow tin or in a post-consumer recycled plastic tube. (.30 oz. tin, .15 oz. tube)

Apply balm liberally to lips as often as needed, particularly in dry, cold or windy conditions.

You can buy it on their website for $3.00 >>

Or buy it online at Drugstore.com for $2.49 >>

It can also be found in places like Walgreens, CVS, Hannaford, Wal Mart, and your local health food store.
